Implement dependent funding verification for J-2s
Develop data reports for H visas
Continued involvement in H Peoplesoft
development
Assess and improve the J orientation for visiting
scholars
Training of other staff in processing of J requests
Revise, expand and coordinate the information
about merit-based petitions (O-1 and green card)
and PERM applications on the web
Revise, update and improve pages of the website as
they pertain to employment visas, with particular
attention to the implementation of WorkFlow.
During a year of fixed-term positions, evaluate
services and functional needs around these
positions. With SEVIS 2.0 and other major
immigration developments (both internal and
external) the coming year will see many changes and
Bechtel I-Center needs to be able to alter functions
and descriptions to meet these changes.

Begin preparation for 2013, the 50th anniversary of
Bechtel I-Center
Continue to enhance the aspect of our website
focusing on individual student travelers
Continue to assess needs of international
undergraduates as a group; assess international
frosh orientation and Bechtel I-Center’s relationship
with the International Undergraduate Community
organization
Develop a comprehensive web-based pre-arrival
information program for new international students
Increase diversity among scholarship applicant pool
Continue to improve and develop mentoring
programs for scholarships such as Fulbright, Mitchell,
Luce, Churchill, DAAD, Boren, ESU, and AU-Cairo.
Continue to work with Haas Center and other units
on developing information for students going
overseas independently and to enhance the Bechtel
I-Center web information for such students.
Assess the future role of the Bechtel host couple in
relation to our broader programmatic needs
Assessment
During the next year we will focus on one or two areas
that we can assess in a manner that provides Bechtel
with measurements to improve or change services.
Budget, Facilities and Office Management
Establish a facilities improvement plan for the next 2-3
years
Continue to cooperate with Zone and Facilities
Management to enhance the building. It is expected
that there will be new lighting installed outside and the
building re-painted during 2011-2012
Continue to enhance the art offerings in the building
