MEETING WILL BE HELD

Election of Board of Directors:
There are two ways to be nominated to run for a
position on the Board. A candidate may be nominated
by the Nominating Committee or nominated by
petition. For information regarding “nomination by
petition” please visit a Sea West Service Center or
contact us by telephone and we will forward a
packet to you. The Credit Union bylaws state that
nomination by petition requires 1% of the total
membership (144 member signatures). Completed
petitions must be returned to the Credit Union by
February 15, 2013.
If there are more nominations than positions
available; a vote will be conducted by mail ballot
prior to the annual meeting.
Nominating Committee Report:
Commander Salvador Romo, Jr., Chairman of this
year’s Nominating Committee, announces that
there are two positions to be filled and the
committee’s nominees are:
Commander e.e. Chambers, UsCG (Ret.)
Nominated for a three year term of office,
Commander Chambers, USCG (Ret.) has been a
member of Sea West since shortly after its formation
in 1954, and has subsequently served as a member
of the board for more than 40 years.
Commander Chambers served with the Coast
Guard between 1948 and 1975, following a brief
stint of 18 months with the U.S. Navy. Commander
Chambers served in many roles and in many parts
of the world including Vietnam.
Following retirement from the Coast Guard,
Commander Chambers maintained his interest in
maritime work by taking up the position of Harbormaster
at the Martinez Municipal Marina for 12 years.
Commander Chambers has also been an active
member of the community over many years.
His diverse interests include the Walnut Creek
Railroad Society for 34 years, the Diablo Literacy
Council for the past 9 years and, of course, as a
long standing and valued member and Director
of Sea West Coast Guard FCU.
Standing again for the position of Director at
Sea West Coast Guard FCU, Commander Chambers
states that, having experienced unsatisfactory levels
of service as a client of a major bank during his
early years in the USCG, he strongly recommends
and supports the Credit Union’s efficient friendly
service and philosophy of “people helping people”.
Paul Cayere,
Nominated for a three year term of office states:
“It has been my privilege to serve as a Board Member
of Sea West Coast Guard FCU for the past 5 years. I
joined the Credit Union in 1987 and have enjoyed the
banking services offered by the Sea West institution.
I have served on the San Leandro Hospital Board of
Trustees as a Director and also as Chairman of the
Board for several years. I have also served the San
Leandro Chamber of Commerce in positions of
Director and then was elected to the position of
Board Chairman.
My professional background was with a large
aerospace company where I was Director of Business
and Facility Operations until I retired in 2004.
I feel that my previous profit and non-profit board
activities combined with my business and operations
leadership roles will continue to bring value to the
credit union. I look forward to working with the Sea
West Board of Directors and its membership for the
continued financial success of the Credit Union”.
