This series of new, hands-on workshops will commence
on Tuesday 2nd March for 4 weeks.

Karl Harron is a respected and successful glass artist based in
Northern Ireland. With an emphasis on design-led, innovative
work, his distinctive style is characterised by the subtle tones
and complex mark-making created by exploiting a third
element within the body of his pieces, created at the interface
between reactive glasses.
All materials will be provided.

The innovative, multi-instrumental ensemble, Decibel, are the Ensemblein-Residence
for 2010 at the University’s Magee campus. Formed in 2002 by
Northern Ireland’s own Ed Bennett, Decibel are a collective of composers
and performers who perform experimental and unusual work which
generally exists between, or miles outside, the usual unhelpful categories
used today. The lunchtime concert will feature works by Ed Bennett, Joe
Culter and Louis Andriessen amongst others. As part of a week of public
workshops and performances, Decibel can be seen performing at an
evening event in Void Gallery, Derry on Thursday 4th March where
they will present a mix of acoustic and electronic music.
