This is an exciting new film club initiative between the Cultural
Development Office, Magee campus, Void Gallery and Artlink that
draws on the private and eclectic collection of music and art films
gathered by a Donegal enthusiast over many years while living
in Seattle.
With hundreds of DVDs on offer, you get to choose the film to be
screened each night from as diverse a mix as The Life and Times
of Frida Kahlo to Joe Strummer–The Future is Unwritten. From
Calexico to The Rolling Stones, Caravaggio to Baraka, catch this
film club with a difference on the last Wednesday of every month
and enjoy a beer or a cuppa while Jackson Pollock splatters paint,
Picasso falls in and out of love and Cohen hypnotises you with his
compelling lyrics.

Ciaran Mackel, senior lecturer in Architecture at University of Ulster
and director of the Forum for Alternative Belfast, has devised a
programme of discussions and workshops on contemporary urban/
architectural issues.
Following an earlier series of events in 2008 when architects came
together with planners and academics to develop a common
understanding of language and intent. This series will focus on
how architects design or make design decisions and will include
discussion on the methods of developing collaborative practice
between the design disciplines and between architects/designers
and the public.
