Cockpit and steering wheel – easy to see, easy to reach
The cockpit of the M-Class conveys a typical SUV driving
sensation with excellent visibility of the controls and
the road.
Key features:
• Essential vehicle information easy to read via the
two-tube instrument cluster and the large monochrome
11.4 cm display between the tubes
• Extremely easy to use with the 4-spoke multifunction
steering wheel featuring twelve trapezoidal buttons for
trip computer, radio, telephone, etc.
• Ergonomic use of the 7G-TRONIC PLUS via the DIRECT
SELECT lever and the DIRECT SELECT gearshift paddles
on the steering wheel
• Good visibility thanks to high seat position
Centre console – clear and easy to use
Important display elements and controls are arranged
clearly and ergonomically on the centre console. One new
feature is the large, centrally positioned display and the
Controller for operating the head unit and also the housing
of sockets for mobile audio devices in the stowage compartment
under the armrest.
The elements have the following vertical layout:
• Large, centrally positioned display (14.7 cm screen
diagonal with Audio 20 CD, 17.8 cm with optional
COMAND Online)
• Vent openings with high-quality design, left and right
of the central display
• Head unit control for Audio 20 CD or COMAND Online
(optional extra)
• Control panel for the automatic climate control
