Nurses Training Guide
Notes ICD-O Morphology Optional: provides a complete hypertext list of
the ICD-O morphology terms and their
corresponding five-digit code numbers as defined
within the ICD-O, International Classification Of
Diseases For Oncology, Second Edition. Each
morphologic term appears only once. The first
term listed under a particular code is the preferred
term and is consistent with the terms as displayed
in the morphology tables.
Topography Codes Optional: provides a mapping of the ICD-O
(International Classification of Diseases for
Oncology), ICD-9-CM, and SEER (Surveillance,
Epidemiology, and End Results Program) codes
and descriptions. The information is consistent
with the Standards of the Commission on Cancer
as described in Volume II of the ROADS
(Registry Operations And Data Standards)
manual. If Laterality or Size reporting for a site is
required, or if Grade is used to assign the AJCC
stage group, then these requirements are noted in
the mapping tables.
TNM Staging Optional: provides complete hypertext versions of
the TNM Staging data forms presented in the
UICC/AJCC Manual for Staging of Cancer, 6th
edition. Each electronic data form presents, in
order, the TNM Definitions, Stage Grouping,
Histopathology, Illustrations, and Applicable
ICD-O Codes. The TNM system for describing
the anatomic extent of disease is based on the
assessment of three components: T (the extent of
the primary tumor), N (the absence or presence
and extent of regional lymph node metastasis, and
M (the absence or presence of distant metastasis).
