Stems pendulous, cylindric, to 50 cm, ca. 5 mm in diam.,<br />

fleshy, with many swollen nodes, upper part ± upcurved, internodes<br />

2–2.5 cm, pale yellow when dry. Leaves oblong, 8–11<br />

× 1.5–1.8(or more) cm, leathery, base with clasping sheath,<br />

apex slightly obtuse and hooked on one side; leaf sheath papery<br />

when dry, sheath mouth open cupular. Inflorescence on old leafless<br />

stems, 1- or 2-flowered; peduncle 3–5 mm; basal sheaths 2<br />

or 3, pale white when dry, broadly ovate, 3–5 mm, papery, obtuse;<br />

floral bracts broadly ovate, 7–10 mm, papery, apex obtuse.<br />

Pedicel and ovary pale purple, ca. 2 cm. Flowers fragrant,<br />

spreading, papery; sepals and petals white with pale purple tips,<br />

lip with many purplish red stripes on each side, disk with a pale<br />

yellow transverse semilunar central blotch, column white, front<br />

side with purple stripes, anther cap white. Dorsal sepal ovatelanceolate,<br />

23–<strong>25</strong> × 7–8(or more) mm, 7-veined, apex acute or<br />

slightly obtuse; lateral sepals suborbicular, equal in size, 7veined,<br />

base oblique, apex acute; mentum subglobose, small,<br />

cm, 1–1.6 cm in diam., fleshy and thick, unbranched, moniliform<br />

with many swollen nodes, internodes 2–2.5 cm, pale yellow<br />

tinged with gray when dry. Leaves oblong, 9–12 × 1.7–2.7<br />

cm, leathery, base with clasping sheath, apex acute; leaf sheath<br />

thinly leathery, sheath mouth ± open when dry. Inflorescences<br />

often arising from upper part of deciduous stems, 1–3-flowered;<br />

peduncle somewhat thick and short, 2–5 mm; basal sheaths 1 or<br />

2, tubular, ca. 6 mm; floral bracts pale white, broadly ovate, ca.<br />

8 mm, papery, apex obtuse. Pedicel yellowish green; ovary pale<br />

sheaths. Leaves alternate on upper part of stem, lanceolate, 5.5–<br />

8 × 1.3–2 cm, leathery, base with clasping sheath, apex slightly<br />

obtuse and unequally bilobed. Inflorescences from old stems<br />

after leaves have fallen, 2-flowered; peduncle 6–16 cm; basal<br />

sheaths ca. 5 mm, membranous; floral bracts ovate-triangular,<br />

ca. 6 mm, membranous. Pedicel and ovary pale rose, 5–6 cm.<br />

Flowers spreading; sepals and petals white with roseate tip, lip<br />

base roseate, with purplish red stripes on both sides, disk golden<br />

yellow at center, column with purplish red stripes at front, anther<br />

cap white. Dorsal sepal oblong-lanceolate, 35–37 × ca. 9<br />

mm, 5-veined, subobtuse to acute; lateral sepals ovate-lanceolate,<br />

35–37 × ca. 9 mm, 5-veined, apex subacute; mentum<br />

subcylindric, ca. 5 mm. Petals broadly oblong, 35–37 × ca. 18<br />

mm, 5-veined, base shortly clawed, apex acute; lip suborbicular,<br />

concave, ca. 24 mm wide, densely pubescent, acute. Column<br />
