Assurance Committee (CQAC) has been formed to motivate and guide the affiliated Colleges to<br />

undergo NAAC Assessment. Accordingly the CQAC could conduct awareness programmes in 13<br />

Colleges in 6 Districts.<br />

Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung became the first Govt. College to be accredited by NAAC in<br />

2010 they were awarded Grade “B”<br />

3. Grant in Aid :<br />

The Department implements a Grant-in-aid scheme under which financial assistance is<br />

extended to Govt. recognized Private Colleges, Theological Colleges and Educational<br />

Institutions of higher learning, orgaizations and on rare occasions even individuals who are<br />

involved in the promotion of education are also covered under this scheme. Activities of<br />

student bodies in the form of conferences, seminars and workshops are also patronized<br />

through this scheme ` 2,65,00,000/- have been allocated for the year 2010 <strong>–</strong> 2011.<br />

4. Growth of Private Secular Colleges :<br />

There are thirty eight (38) Secular Private Colleges in <strong>Nagaland</strong>, affiliated to <strong>Nagaland</strong><br />

University. These Colleges are given grants-in- aid annually according to their enrolment,<br />

performance in the University exams and other yardsticks.. The Colleges are listed below.<br />
