It appearing that the Department of
Public UtilttlM KM received numerou» com.
pUinU from the euttomara of New Jersey
Natural CM Company in the areu now being
Mrved by natural gu which have been
and are being inveitiguted;
It further appearing that these comptainU
concern: (1) the charges for natural
gas, (2) the method of billing, (3) the
method of measuring the service and measuring
device* wed, (4) failure of customer*'
appliance* to function properly after
convention for the use of natural g«*;
It further appearing that in order for
the Board to become fully informed on the
matter*, aforesaid, and in order to serve the
public interest, the Board should hold a
public hearing i
It is ORDERED that a public hearing
shall be helu tn the Council Room, Muni*
cipal Building, 710 Bangs Avenue, Asbury
Park, New Jersey, at 11:00 A. M, on the
26th day of March, 1983, on the matters
aforesaid.
It b FURTHER ORDERED that at
the tone and place aforesaid, the New Jersey
Natural Gas Company furnish the
Board with statistical data, supported by
written statements and testimony which
will disclose the facts with respect to the
aforesaid and any other matters relating
thereto.
It is FURTHER ORDERED that at
the time and place, aforesaid, the New Jersey
Natural Gas Company furnish the
Beard with following specific data, supported
by written statements and testimony:
1, Comparison of cMt to customers
of natural fas' with that of manufactured
gas in each service area
and for each class of service.
2, Effect of meter accuracy to show
whether the flow of natural gas
accelerate* its action so that it records
a greater consumption,
3, Records of all instance* where
new or corrected meters have
been installed by die Company
and the effect on the bills of the
customer*.
4, Tabulation of complaint* received
from customers classified as follows;
(a) Ugh bills, (b) adjust,
mento of appliance*, (c) miscellaneous,
by weeks, from August
10, 1952.
5, And such other data as may be required
by the Board,
It is FURTHER ORDERED that New
Jersey Natural Gat Company be prepared
at die hearing aforesaid to offer evidence in
explanation of the reason for its failure to
• supply gas at lower rates.
It b FURTHER ORDERED that New
Jersey Natural Gas Company publish this
Order in all the newspapers printed and distributed
in the Company's service areas
* now furnished with natural ga», twice not
lets than seven (7) days apart prior to the
date set for hearing.
The Board will enter such Order aa it
deem* just and proper in the premises.
