Action Priorities - Emergency
Checklist:
This Action Priorities checklist has
been designed to give you a simple
”Action Plan” to be followed whenever
you come across an emergency.
CHECK FOR DANGER
DON’T PANIC! Check for danger to yourself, to the
Casualty and to other people [bystanders / workmates
etc].
Make sure no-one else gets hurt – you cannot help if
you are also a casualty.
CHECK RESPONSE
Is the casualty conscious?
Gently shake and shout “Are you OK? Can you hear
me?”
For the CONSCIOUS casualty;
* Check for and manage BLEEDING and other
injuries.
* Seek medical help if required.
For the UNCONSCIOUS CASUALTY:
* Send for help immediately - DIAL 111
* Unconscious and breathing, place in RECOVERY
POSITION.
* Unconscious and not breathing start CPR.
