algorithms for dynamic networks wherein links may<br />

come up or down [Afek89]<br />

Similarity: Work on dynamic networks is applicable<br />

to ad hoc networks, since both share the dynamic<br />

topology change property<br />

Difference: In ad hoc networks, link failure and<br />

repair caused by the movement of a single node are<br />

likely to be in vicinity of each other, and hence<br />

correlated<br />

In dynamic networks research, link events are usually assumed<br />

to be independent<br />
