<strong>Clinic</strong>al <strong>and</strong> Financial Performance – 2008<br />
The BTNC experienced an unprecedented year of<br />
clinical volume <strong>and</strong> financial growth in 2008.<br />
Higher Patient Volume<br />
Between 2001 <strong>and</strong> 2008, the BTNC experienced<br />
an increase in new patient volume of 150 percent;<br />
an increase in total outpatient visits of 366 percent;<br />
an increase in surgical cases of 32 percent; <strong>and</strong> an<br />
increase in Gamma Knife cases of 92 percent.<br />
In 2004, BTNC physicians began performing Novalis<br />
radiosurgery, starting with only three cases. By 2008,<br />
our staff performed 82 of these procedures.<br />
Overall in 2008, BTNC physicians recorded 7,925<br />
outpatient visits <strong>and</strong> performed 974 surgical <strong>and</strong><br />
radiosurgical procedures.<br />
Larger Market Share<br />
The BTNC maintains the highest market share in the<br />
“Cuyahoga County,” “21-county” <strong>and</strong> “state of Ohio”<br />
markets, <strong>and</strong> continues to increase dominance over its<br />
closest competitor. Future initiatives focus on increasing<br />
market share locally, regionally <strong>and</strong> nationally.<br />
Financial Performance<br />
Increased Revenue Between 2002 <strong>and</strong> 2008,<br />
gross revenue increased 178 percent; net revenue<br />
increased 111 percent; <strong>and</strong> contribution margin<br />
increased 79 percent.<br />
