Elementary School! For those of you who weren’t able to join us at Convention last September, we shared a slide presentation about a Max International service project at an elementary school in Salt Lake City. Washington Elementary caters to some very special children. They are bright and lovable but they have a pretty significant challenge in their lives: they are homeless. Max owners, executives and employees spent part of their day at the school weeding and cleaning a neglected area of the school. Money was collected to purchase shoes for the kids. At Convention, many of you donated children’s books for these special kids. Our goal was to ensure each child owned his or her own book. It is pretty touching that the children were so taken with their bright red Max water bottles and Max pins, not to mention new gardening gloves. Of course, they totally loved the pizza and doughnuts. We wanted to share their cute messages of thanks. Talon sure liked the pizza and doughnuts. He drew a lip-smacking face to illustrate how good the food tasted. Katie drew a picture of the hill in back of the school, before and after. She also hinted that some of the weeds are coming back and wrote: “can’t wait till U help us.” Roman thought it was fun to pull weeds but even more fun to see all the many bugs! He invited us to “Please come agin.” Mackenzie appreciated the gloves and the clean garden. Marissa said the hill looks nice now and Heather wanted to know if we’d come back. To Katie, Roman and Heather, we will visit you again! Letter by ROMAN Kevin and Devante used a computer, the most original font and some pretty inventive spelling to express their thanks. “We appreasheatse the cool stuff. You shood come again.” We have this message for the Washington Elementary students: We will come back! Love, Max International a special thanks A Big Thanks from Washington Illustration & Letter by TALON Illustration & Letter by KATIE 4
