MAX INTERNATIONAL
ASSOCIATE NEWSLETTER
March 2008
Founders Message
As one of the founders of Max International, it is my privilege
to write this letter for our first Max Newsletter. When I
thought about what was the most important thing I wanted
to say, it turned out to be something very simple: I really,
really appreciate what you Max Associates are doing!
As a young stockbroker, I had to make 300 cold calls every
morning. Maybe 20 would let you call back and one would
end up buying stock. It was a grind. I understand what it
takes to approach someone and make a presentation, not
knowing if you will be accepted or rejected. That’s why we
are so pleased to have the IntroPack and “Your Business
At Home” magazine to make you the messenger and not the message! With over
2,000 businesses to choose from, we are proud that our unique company and
breakthrough product was worthy of being featured in this national magazine.
The owners and corporate executives of Max all expressed this same feeling of
gratitude during the recent regional meetings. We truly appreciate your efforts to
make Max work for you and for us.
At Corporate, we are doing the easy part. We’re making the ‘widgets’ and sending
out checks. We also create the support and sales tools you use. You are doing the
hard part. You are spending the dollars and putting so much effort into building
your business. If you know nothing else, you need to know how much you are
appreciated!
I am so excited about the future of Max International. There are new things
coming up that will make your jobs easier and will broaden your horizons. We can
hardly wait to make the announcements!
Together we are making a huge difference in the world. Max International is moving
forward because you are making the effort to share our story of increased health
and opportunities for prosperity. I wish you continued success in all you do.
Take it to the Max!
Fred Ninow
If you have ideas or suggestions of how we can offer better
support to help you reach even higher levels of success, we
would love to have your feedback. Please contact our Sales
Director, Bob Kaelin either by letter to our corporate office or
by email: bob@maxgxl.com. We look forward to hearing from
you and implementing your ideas!

Passion and Product Take
Alan Sickman to Diamond!
Virginian Alan Sickman
has been friends with
Jay McGregor for 12
years. He knew of
Jay’s health challenges
and was worried for
his friend. So when
Jay called to tell him
about the fabulous
experience he’d had with a product called
MaxGXL, Alan listened.
“I trusted Jay’s judgment,” Alan said recently.
“There was a fly-in to Salt Lake City in
January 2007 and I thought I’d better take
a look at this.” Alan came away impressed
with the product and the company.
“It isn’t just the special product Max has,”
said Alan. “It’s a whole culture. We share
the vision of Max to help people
find a better quality of life. This
is a difficult time for families
to make it. Whether you are
part-time or fulltime, Max is an
excellent opportunity to improve
your financial standing.”
Alan has gone from the rank of
Gold to Platinum and became a
Diamond in January 2008. “It’s
not about me,” Alan states, “it’s
really a credit to the leaders and members
of our team. We’re all out there doing the
basics and sharing product.”
Alan is quick to tell you he’s not a salesman.
Then he displays the perfect characteristics
of a great salesman! He cares passionately
about MaxGXL and about Max International.
“Some companies in network marketing
exist solely to make money for their owners,”
he explained. “Max is clearly a business but
that’s not its sole function.”
A retired Army Colonel, Alan Sickman is
intensely committed to integrity. “Many
people will recognize Dr. Robert H. Keller
for his outstanding scientific career. But
are they aware of Dr. Keller’s humanitarian
work? Do they realize Dr. Keller’s patented
HIV treatment will be made available to help
humankind for one dollar a day or less?”
Alan wonders. He tells how Dr. Keller turned
down lucrative offers for his product from
pharmaceutical companies in order to keep
it affordable. “The royalties from MaxGXL
support Dr. Keller’s humanitarian work,” Alan
proudly states.
Alan takes great pride in the
founders of Max International as
well. Steven K. Scott, Fred Ninow
and Greg Fullerton were partners
in a venture to provide an ISP
with strong parental controls and
filters to help parents protect their
kids from adults-only internet
material. “The founders have a
goal and concern for children of
the next generation. Knowing
they invested millions to protect
children, helps you understand their need to
give back to humanity. This is a reflection of
who are founders are,” Alan said.
As you listen to the passion in Alan’s voice,
you understand why he is successful and
why his team can replicate that success.
It’s a simple but heartfelt formula. Find a
By building a team you are leveraging your
time. Treat your team members like the assets
they are and help them conquer their fears.

great product and a great company you can
believe in and tell others!
“I’ve never seen anything like this company
in 17 years in the business,” Alan remarks.
“With the high quality of the product
combined with Max’s sincere caring about
the Associates and their families, it’s real
easy to get excited about Max!”
Two things only are in Alan’s directions for
success in a Max International business.
“Tell people the truth and let them try the
product,” he says. “It’s simple
but not always easy. People
are skeptics today but more
and more will hear about Max
because everyone is talking
about MaxGXL.” Alan notes
that the skepticism translates
into initial low expectations for
products. “They can’t believe
how phenomenal MaxGXL is.
They are flabbergasted at the
results they get with the product.”
Alan tells his team to “do the basics” every
day. The basics are telling the Max story
and sharing the product. He warns that new
Associates may get enthused but often don’t
have previous experience to comfortably
share the message. “As a sponsor or a team
we must keep things simple and help our
team members be more comfortable with
doing these basics,” he says.
“By building a team you are leveraging your
time. Treat your team members like the
assets they are and help them conquer their
fears,” Alan advises. “To me, it’s important
to follow-up with people and to convey my
passion.”
Although he probably never sold cosmetics,
Alan intuitively understands what Mary Kay
Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics once
said: “Pretend that every single person you
meet has a sign around his or her neck that
says, ‘make me feel important.’ Not only will
you succeed in sales, you will succeed in
life.”
Alan has said that he doesn’t “refer to my
team members (partners) as downline.
Since my team members (partners) are my
most valuable asset, I feel very passionate
about showing them the utmost respect.”
The respect that Alan shows to team
members translates into success for
the entire team.
Alan’s method is being replicated
over and over as his team members
follow his example to be proud of
Max International and to share
its exciting product. “Max exists
to make a physical and financial
difference in people’s daily lives,”
Alan concludes.
your dreams can become reality!

Glutathione:
A Real Cinderella Story
If you would for a minute consider
yourself in the role of Prince Charming,
there’s a lovely Cinderella we would
like you to meet.
She doesn’t have a very “musical” name:
glutathione. And you’ve probably overlooked
her just like her step-sisters did. But this
‘Cinderella’ is not only
hardworking, she’s
powerful enough to take
you to the Ball and have
you looking and feeling
like the regal royal you
were meant to be!
Okay. Glutathione is not really a storybook
princess, it’s a lovely tripeptide molecule
found in every cell in your body. Glutathione
is versatile and hardworking, more vital to
your health than you can possibly imagine!
But most people have never even heard of
glutathione.
You are about to read some of the astounding
ways glutathione impacts the way your body
works. The metabolic processes described
below are all documented by peer-reviewed
studies available on the website of the U.S.
National Library of Medicine and the National
Institutes of Health: www.pubmed.gov.
You don’t have to be a scientist to locate these
studies. A simple search on this website will
show you scientific confirmation of the benefits
of this amazing substance: glutathione.
DeBest DeTox!
What a polluted world we live in! Mothersto-be
are warned not to eat certain fish that
are contaminated with neurotoxic mercury.
Cows are treated with genetically engineered
We believe you should have more
good days than bad days!
growth hormones to make them give unnatural
amounts of milk. Their milk gives you a dose
of unneeded hormones along with the famous
milk mustache. Fruits and vegetables contain
traces of herbicides and pesticides. Cigarette
smoke (even secondhand smoke) causes
serious free-radical damage to our cells.
Life has become a giant
chemical stew and we
desperately need to be
detoxified.
There are minerals like
copper and zinc that are
essential to our health
when taken in trace amounts. When we
are exposed to higher amounts, the same
helpful substances become toxic. And we are
sometimes exposed to the chemical element
arsenic, a dangerous poison.
Glutathione to the rescue! Studies found
on PubMed show that glutathione steps up to
the plate when we are exposed to arsenic 1 ,
cadmium 2 , copper 3 , mercury 4 , 5 and zinc. 6
Glutathione binds to these heavy metals and
transports them to the liver where even more
glutathione resides, ready to finish the detox
job and escort the metals out of the body.
Unfortunately, heavy metals can overwhelm
intracellular glutathione. For example, a 2005
study stated that “Intracellular glutathione
(GSH) was significantly depleted by [arsenic]
exposure.” 7 This shows how important it is
for the body to be able to restore glutathione
levels after detoxifying.
Not-So-Holy Smoke
It’s fairly common knowledge that cigarette
smoke generates incredible amounts of
product information
page 5
damaging free radicals. Perhaps not so well
known is the danger that second-hand smoke
presents in generating those same dangerous
free radicals.
Glutathione is the body’s most powerful
antioxidant. Recent research showed ways
that smoking compromises the body’s immune
system. Cigarette smoke slowed down
production of immune system cells called
cytokines and reduced the activation of the
molecule nuclear factor-kappa beta (NFkB)
which detects free radicals and infectious
agents. Treatment with glutathione, reported
the study, “reversed both these effects” of
cigarette smoking. 8
Chemicals in Food
A special mechanism is triggered in the
digestive tract when xenobiotic (not normally
produced by the body) chemicals are
detected in food. Examples
of xenobiotic chemicals
found in food are remnants
of pesticides, herbicides or
hormones given to animals.
Dr. Robert H. Keller said that
there are some things “that we eat in food
that we would never put in our mouth if we
knew what they really were!” Unique detecting
proteins, called “heat shock proteins,” trigger
cellular glutathione levels to rise which then
protects cells exposed to the chemicals. 9
Blitzing Bad Bugs
A nasty germ responsible for many respiratory
infections is called Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Part of this bug’s arsenal of tricks is causing
oxidative stress in cellular systems with a
factor called pyocyanin. Research in Australia
showed that one of the cell-damaging effects
of pyocyanin was “inhibited by the antioxidant,
glutathione.” 10
Protecting Elite Athletes
Exercise is vital to good health! But the
oxidation process that naturally occurs during
intense exercise can deplete inadequate
stores of glutathione. One animal study
showed decreased glutathione content in
older skeletal muscle. 11 Glutathione is so
important to the health of athletes that Italian
sport researchers concluded that measuring
antioxidant levels of glutathione reductase
[the enzyme that “reduces” glutathione to
its most antioxidant state] and other such
markers “may be useful to a clinician to better
assess and evaluate the benefits of training
and/or supplementation programs.” 12
In fact, this study showed that trained elite
soccer players had significantly higher levels
of blood glutathione reductase activity
compared to subjects who were sedentary.
Intense exercise requires high levels of
glutathione!
The Eyes Have It!
Yet another benefit from
the marvelous antioxidant
glutathione is that it supports
good eye health. Reactive oxygen species
(ROS) decrease glutathione levels allowing a
more oxidized environment which can cause
cloudy vision. 13
Healthy levels of cellular glutathione “put out
the fires” started by reactive oxygen species
allowing the eyes to function properly.
Happy Ending for this Cinderella
Story
Wouldn’t you agree that glutathione has
more than earned the right to be recognized
as one of the most important factors of good
health? Now you can share the true story of
this mighty antioxidant!
Glutathione is versatile and hardworking, more vital
to your health than you can possibly imagine!

Detox…
Glutathione is responsible for eliminating many
different environmental poisons.
As the process of toxin extraction occurs,
many people may experience symptoms
that are directly related to this process.
The typical reaction to the expelling of these
toxins involve flu-like symptoms including,
but not limited to, brain fog, headache,
sore throat, a feverish feeling,
joint or muscle discomfort
and almost always,
fatigue. Symptoms
not associated with
detox such as
hives, runny nose,
and or a shortness
of breath need to
be recognized as
representative of
allergic reactions and
one should immediately
cease supplementation.
For those experiencing a detox reaction
with MaxGXL, it is recommended that
they decrease the supplementation down
to one capsule, drink plenty of water, eat
wholesome, fresh foods, and gradually
increase the supplementation amount over
time until they have reached a comfortable
amount up to 6 capsules per day.
In some people, detox reactions may not
occur until they are on the product for
weeks to months and in those with severe
toxic/bacteria/viral exposure, it may re-
occur multiple times as they
cleanse their cells at a
deeper and deeper level.
If this does occur, it is
again recommended
that one decrease the
dose to where the
symptoms diminish
and/or disappear and
then increase slowly.
It is important to
understand that the
human body utilizes water
as its principle medium to expel
toxins. Current recommendations for water
intake is ½ oz. of water per pound of body
weight. The goal is to exercise patience and
understand that ultimately the body is going
to function better when it is cleansed on the
environmental toxins.
A great day starts with MaxGXL!

Gloria Alvino Trades Her Cane for 30
Minutes on an Elliptical Machine
“Exercise is vital to staying young,” says Gloria Alvino who will
celebrate her 77th birthday in June.
And that includes keeping fit emotionally and mentally. But lingering discomfort from an
automobile accident kept her from physical exercise for six long months.
In November 2007, Gloria’s friend Valerie gifted her with
MaxGXL capsules. Within three days, Gloria hung up her
cane and put in 30 minutes on an elliptical machine. “It was
so astounding to me!” Gloria says of the effect an increased
supply of glutathione had on her body, “It was the missing
link.” When she flew to Boston for Christmas, she easily
handled shoveling snow and breaking up ice. Muscles that
had grown lax were working so effectively Gloria’s doctor
could only murmur, “Amazing!”
Gloria has a health sciences background. She became a
registered pharmacist in 1955 but as the years progressed,
she found herself turning to alternate modalities in her
mission to help people. Also the co-founder of a surgical supply company, Gloria pioneered
the rental of traction equipment for children so that they could remain at home during the
three to six months necessary for this treatment. Now Gloria is pioneering once again with
a Max International business.
“I wondered if I should just be a Preferred Customer,” Gloria told Max during a telephone
interview from her home in Florida. “I decided to meditate on it. If you open your heart
to question what to do and then listen, the answer will bubble up,” she related. Gloria’s
answer was to go for it!
But there were things she had to find out first. It is important to Gloria to associate with
people who share the mission of making a positive difference in the world. “I didn’t just want
to ‘kick the tires’ to see what kind of compensation plan the company had. I wanted to see
how much heart is there,” she said. “Altruism and serving are important to me. That is why I
decided I could do business with these people—they come from the heart,” she said.
“I’m a real neophyte,” Gloria remarked. “I’ve only been taking MaxGXL since November.
glutathione injections for $125 or take these
inexpensive, white capsules. I’m delighted to
open myself up to abundance in a business
manner that will help fund a list of things I
want to do altruistically to help people grow
into their own full potential,” she said.
Gloria took the step of signing up for the
Orlando Regional Meeting where she met
her upline Diamond, Raja Sethi.
“MaxGXL resonates for me. I’ve asked for
this business to overflow me so I can be
generous in helping people improve the
quality of their lives,” she explained.
Her enthusiasm carries the MaxGXL message
well. “I’m taking a new supplement,” she
tells people. “It’s my fountain of youth!”
Top Revenue Recruiters
The applause sign is ON for these dynamic people who are Max’s
top revenue recruiters for the period of January 1 - February 6, 2008!
Congratulations for selling Super Achiever Packs and signing on Preferred
Customers! We salute these hard working Associates!
Brad Hults was already a successful
businessman before getting involved
with Max International. He said he is so
comfortable recruiting people it’s almost
second nature to him, yet he doesn’t
really need the money that results from
his efforts.
He said he had sworn off Network
Marketing after some bad experiences
in the past. It took having a product
like MaxGXL to get him involved in it
again. His own experience, recovering
from a years-long injury, and watching
his dad, who suffered from major health
problems, suddenly able to do yard work free of pain, has sold him on the product. His
need to share it with others grows out of that. His primary motivation is not money, yet as
a businessman it is always a factor.
His success as a recruiter has been something of a roller-coaster ride so far, he said. He had
no problem recruiting a lot of people in a very short period, but now he is more concerned
with helping those people succeed and stay motivated in sharing it with others. He said true
success may be a few years down the road, but he’s in no rush.
Ty Tribble and Bo Short have
anything they have experienced.
“I’ve seen things in Max International that will transform this industry,” Bo said. “This
company will make history.” They have focused all of their energy on promoting this business
because of its tremendous potential. As recruiters, Bo and Ty believe very much in gearing
their approach to the needs of each person they introduce to the company. Some people
are in a position to immediately become Associates, while others are more suited to start
out as Preferred Customer, depending on their situation and income level.
“We want to do what’s best for them, not us,” said Ty. They also think the Max edition
of Your Business at Home magazine is an amazing tool. They feel it gives tremendous
credibility to Max International and a wealth of information that both answers and raises
interest in the company.
Sue and Alan McDonald have a
unique marketing tool that has worked
for them. Most of their recruits have come
on board as the result of a flyer they send
out to a strong customer base they have
built over eleven years. When a customer
is interested they start each one on a
month’s supply of MaxGXL. They feel
their recruits deserve a more substantial
trial than just one or two weeks.
Sue and Alan have been selling health
related products for eleven years. They
found out about Max from Sue’s doctor,
Charles Mabray, after she experienced immune system failure. After being restored to full
health, she was convinced she had discovered a product that she would not only continue
to take for the rest of her life, but that she would introduce to as many people as she
could.
The McDonald’s business grew out of a need to help people. Part of the success of the
flyers resulted from trust achieved through years of dedicated and reliable service to their
customers. This has been a very effective and unique way of promoting the product. They
also like the magazine and introduce their customers to it when they feel the time is right
and they have some familiarity with the product and Max International as a company.
Al Greer has found the Your Business at Home magazine to
be a great source of information, but, like the McDonalds, is
careful about how and when he uses it. Al says he brings all
of his people on board as Preferred Customers. Most of them
start receiving MaxGXL on AutoShip from the start. He lets them
experience the product for themselves and as interest increases
in the product, it tends to increase in the company as well. At that
point he brings in the magazine to give them more information
about the company.
“When people get excited about the product they usually step
up to the plate and want to become Associates,” he said. “It’s a natural progression.” Many
of Al’s recruits have resulted from Internet advertising, and as a result they are scattered
all over the world. One lady responded to his Google ad. Their conversation about MaxGXL
led to references to Dr. Keller. It turned out that the lady was Dr. Keller’s neighbor.
He feels there is a huge market for Max International in places like Asia and Europe. “I’m
excited about the international aspect of this company,” Al said. “It will absolutely explode
internationally.”
Mike Unclebach’s success in recruiting customers has
grown out of a method of follow-up and careful attention.
Like many others, he doesn’t focus on recruiting people as
Associates but finds many of his recruits want to upgrade
after experiencing the product. He starts out many of his
recruits with a two-week sample pack.
Mike feels the magazine is extremely valuable in educating
people about the company and MaxGXL. Its multifaceted
articles and the DVD with the Steve Scott interview very
effectively lay the groundwork for a discussion about Dr.
Keller’s amazing product and the company that evolved
from it. This, combined with sharing his personal experience
with MaxGXL, has been instrumental in signing many
people as Preferred Customers. Mike’s success, he feels, is rooted in the effectiveness of
the product. “I let people know I’m doing this because it (MaxGXL) has helped me. It has
helped my family and it can help them.”
Jillyn and Randy Haymore’s success
in recruiting Preferred Customers to Max
International has been very much a team
effort. Jill said that her husband talks to a lot of
people in his job working for Spanish Fork City
in Utah, so he will often start the discussion
about Max International. He then defers to
Jillyn and she will finish it by discovering what
each person’s individual needs are. Jillyn said
when talking to people about the company or
the product, she modifies her approach based
on what the person’s hot buttons are.
She finds that Your Business At Home magazine can reach a wide array of people but each
person may need to be approached in a slightly different way. She’ll highlight different
sections depending on who she’s talking to. A person with a medical background, for
instance, or someone interested in the science behind MaxGXL will respond best to the
Dr. Keller sections, whereas others will be more inclined toward profiles of the Advisory
Board, or articles related to the business. Some respond best to hearing Jillyn’s personal
experience with the product. Modifying her approach, she feels, has helped her reach more
people and helped in the Haymore’s success.
Like the Haymore’s, Rebbecca and Dr. Marvin Shipman, work in tandem in
marketing MaxGXL. MaxGXL is right up Dr. Shipman’s line. He works as a naturopathic
doctor. Instead of dealing in pharmaceuticals he recommends supplements and other
natural remedies.
Rebbecca said she and Marvin do not come from a network marketing background. They
own a 3,000 square-foot store where they sell supplemental products, but they have sold
only one other product related to network marketing. Rebbecca said their motive is helping
people not making money.
They are completely sold on MaxGXL and their success in marketing it grows out of their
personal experiences and those of the people they introduce it to. Rebbecca said her
husband is a very trustworthy man who has gained the respect of his patients and others
in his field over the years. “So when he recommends a product, people listen,” she said.
MaxGXL has become one of the products they recommend most frequently.
Top Associate Recruiters
Max rolls out the red carpet for those who have recruited the most new
Ian and Tara Mummery-Hoad found immediate
success at Max International by signing on as Associates.
They encourage the people they recruit to do the same.
Ian said the majority of his recruits have come on board
as Associates as a result. He said they aren’t opposed
to signing people on as Preferred Customers but they
encourage them to become Associates as quickly as
possible. Ian said he has been in network marking for
eight years during which time he has built a network of
thousands of colleagues and friends within the industry.
He has no problem drawing on those relationships to build
his business with Max.
To come to Max, Tara and Ian had to leave a company they had been with for several years.
They knew within just a couple of weeks they had made the right decision. Ian said that
sometimes it can be scary getting involved with a start-up company because so many go
under after a short time. But Max had both the product and management team that he felt
would have stability for him and the people he would recruit. “I loved the product. I loved
the team. I loved the leadership. From top to bottom I couldn’t be happier than I am with
Max,” he said.
Dr. Charles Mabray said his interest in MaxGXL was immediately
roused when a friend told him he had a product that helped the
body manufacture and use glutathione. He was reassured when he
discovered the ingredients were safe, natural substances.
He started using it himself and got several members of his staff and
his wife to try the product. The responses from these test subjects
went well beyond his expectations. They expressed improvement
in sleep, relief from discomforts and jumpy legs, to name just a
few. With his initial success with the product Dr. Mabray branched
out and started introducing select patients and friends to MaxGXL and the results continue
to exceed his expectations. “In all my 35 plus years of practice, I have never seen a
supplement or medication that helps so many, so much, so quickly,” he said.
The following Max Associates are receiving honors because they have
Like some of the other top recruiters, Dr. Charles Loops doesn’t generally sign people up
as Associates, but for him it’s a question of ethics, and his focus is on helping his patients.
Most of his clients benefiting from the AutoShip plan aren’t people. Dr. Loops is a vet. He
has found MaxGXL to be very effective in treating chronic illness in pets. One of Dr. Loop’s
colleagues, also a vet, told him about MaxGXL and he started taking it. After experiencing
a 58 percent increase in his glutathione levels he knew he was onto something. He started
recommending it to pet owners, a few of whom started taking it along with their pets, but
the majority of his downline is non-human.
Dr. Loops said he would love to get more into the marketing it because he believes very
much in the product and wants to share it with as many people as possible, as well as
animals. But until he figures out a way to reach more people, he will continue to recommend
MaxGXL to owners whose pets could benefit from taking it. He feels a strong obligation to
his patients. He said it is a great long-term product for many animals with serious health
issues.
