the products and the business. Herb had been in a couple accidents in the 70s that he was still suffering
the effects of and Ruth had a few health concerns of her own. They couldn’t believe the results they had
on the products during their trip.
The Wiskinds went to a fly-in in Salt Lake City right after they returned from down under. They met two
of the Founders and became even more convinced that it was a company that was worth getting involved
with.
“It was exciting, informative and reinforcing,” Ruth said of the Salt Lake City fly-in.
This is the second time Ruth has come out of retirement. They retired from their respective careers in
1998. Herb was a physician and Ruth a marriage and family therapist. Soon after Ruth got involved with a
network marketing company. It was something she did by herself. Ruth said Max International is exciting
because she and Herb can do it together. Herb had no interest in the first company she was involved with,
but this is right up both of their allies and doing it together is a bonding experience. It is also gratifying to
help people find alternative methods to better health, and she can’t think of a better way to do that than
through Max and its unique products.
“It does two essential things for us at this stage in our lives,” Ruth said. “It gives us a fresh way to help
people as medical professionals and it creates a stream of income in our retirement years. It gives us a
plan B to fall back on since we had nothing but retirement income to rely on before Max.”
They were living a nice lifestyle in a home they built on the Colleton River in Bluffton, South Carolina. As
luxurious as their lives were, Ruth says there’s only so much fulfillment you can get out of it after a while.
Having an opportunity to get active again by sharing something with others that has dramatically impacted
their lives and health seems to be just what the doctor ordered, so to speak. Ruth said developing new
friendships and experiencing the team spirit involved with being in a company like Max is incredible. It is
giving a whole new meaning to their retirement years.
“This is all very exciting,” she said.
