The St-Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival continues to make its mark on the visual arts
world with its highlight event Galerie FRINGE
Wednesday, May 30, 2012 – The St-Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival is happy to announce
the return of Galerie FRINGE! Taking place at Studio Beluga from June 8 th -9 th , this art exhibit
features over 35 artists from various visual art disciplines. This visual art exhibit run by FRINGE
rules is guaranteed to deliver a surprise for all. As with every year at the FRINGE Festival, expect
the unexpected!
Boasting an approach emphasizing accessibility and affordability, artists were invited to submit on
a first come, first accepted basis. Artists will be exhibiting their work with no curatorial direction and
no censorship from the festival. Also in tandem with FRINGE rules, the artists will keep 100%; the
festival will not withdraw any commissions from their efforts.

The St-Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival is the ultimate summer happening to hit up for that
unbeatable neighborhood feel! Block party and performing arts collide every June in the
Plateau/Mile-End for this celebration of creativity without limits that includes music, comedy, dance,
visual arts and theatre from over 500 performers. The St-Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival is
bilingual, and includes local, national and international artists from Montreal to Greece to
Japan! The 22 nd edition of the festival runs from June 4 th -24 th , 2012.
Studio Béluga is a non-profit organization run by a collective of artists, arts educators and
curators, established with the goal of facilitating artistic practices and forming a self-pedagogical
creative community. Studio Béluga strives to generate new opportunities for the exhibition and
dissemination of creative projects and to foster collaborations across disciplines through
programming that includes exhibitions, thematic and self-directed residencies, and public events.
With the board of directors spread across Canada in Montreal, Toronto, Brandon and Vancouver,
exhibitions and events take on the challenge of countering traditional gallery models, and fostering
creative possibilities that draw from the nomadic nature of the collective.
