man at a McMinn County home 

Wednesday night continued on Friday. 

The McMinn and Monroe counties’ 

sheriff’s departments were on the look 

out for Skiver Millsaps, 20, of Tellico 

Plains, the suspect in the evening incident.

Man Charged in Brass Theft 

A 22-year-old man who was a passenger in a car died from injuries 

in a two-vehicle accident inside the Madisonville city limits on Friday. 

Madisonville Police Captain Dan Russell identified the man as Josh 

Sisk of Old Highway 68, Sweetwater. 

Sisk was a passenger in a car driven by his stepbrother, 20-year-old 

Jonathan Ezell, who pulled from eastbound Isbill Road onto Highway 

68 into the path of a van driven by

hardwood action Thursday 

night. Tellico Plains 

jumped out to a ninepoint 

lead in the first half 

and then held off a furious 

second half comeback attempt 

by the Eagles, taking 

the win 30-27. 

You could feel the intensity 

in the first period as 

both teams took the floor, 

putting their undefeated 

records on the line. The 

action started out slow 

with both squads measuring 

each other up and 

being really cautious on 

defense. Madisonville's

Lady Eagles Take Down Lady Cubs

Lady Cubs paid a visit to 

their county rivals, the 

Madisonville Lady Eagles, 

for middle school basketball 

action. The Lady Eagles 

showed they were 

ready for the challenge, 

jumping to an early lead 

and playing stingy defense, 

taking the victory 

33-20. 

The first period saw 

Madisonville come out on 

fire. All five Lady Eagles 

starters scored while their 

defense held Tellico Plains 

to one bucket, which was 

a three-pointer by Lady 

Cub Clarissa Lambert. 

Lady Eagle Savannah 

Atkins had seven points, 

Mattie Torbett scored 

four, Kayana Henderson 

tallied three, and Haley 

Isbill and Lynsey Miller 

made a basket each, helping 

Madisonville to a 15-3 

lead after one quarter of 

play. 

The Lady Cubs buckled 

down and tightened up 

on defense in the second 

frame, holding the home 

team to only three points 

in the quarter, but Madisonville 

matched that defensive 

effort, giving up 

only two points to the visitors. 

Torbett scored all 

three of the Lady Eagles 

points with a bucket and 

a free throw and Brianna 

Shaw made two free 

throws for Tellico Plains’ 

total, and Madisonville 

led 18-5 at halftime. 

The defenses continued 

to get after each other 

during the third period, 

with each team scoring 

only six points in the 

frame. The home team’s 

Atkins scored all six of the 

points as the players kept 

working the ball into the 

low blocks. Tellico Plains 

worked the ball inside as 

well and Bailey Hunt had 

a bucket and two free 

throws, giving her four 

points and Lambert 

scored two points for the 

Lady Cubs, and at the end 

of three, the Lady Eagles 

led 24-11. 

In the fourth period the 

offenses come to life. The 

Lady Cubs gave great effort, 

trying to mount a 

comeback. Lambert hit a 

three-pointer and a free 

throw, giving her four 

points, Hanna Phillips and 

Sarah Bryson each scored 

a bucket and Hunt, tossing 

in a free throw, provided 

Tellico Plains with 

nine points in the frame. 

The Lady Eagles would 

match that effort however. 

Atkins scored four 

points, Hannah White 

and Emily Hawkins had 

two points apiece, and 

Taylor Moses made a free 

throw, giving the home 

team nine points in the 

quarter and allowing the 

Lady Eagles to claim the 

victory 33-20. 

Madisonville's Atkins led 

all scorers with 17 points, 

Torbett had four points, 

Henderson added three 

points, Isbill, L. Miller, 

White, and Hawkins had

times. The first, called 

semen motility, determines 

the percentage of 

the bull’s sperm cells that 

are alive. Dead sperm cannot
