During two years Johannes Samuelson have
been working with questions that have risen
out of the backwater of the Ostindiefaraen
Götherbrg III (A recently rebuilded model
of the Swedish trading ship Götheborg,
that sailed the eastern indian waters and
back before going down right outside the
harbor of Gothenburg in the mid-eighteenth
hundered century). He focuses on his own
personal thoughts and opinions of the boat
and the attention around it. Two movies from
the project “Ett modernt äventyr” (A modern
adventure) is presented in K-merkt KONST
In part 1 that takes place during 2005/2006
are two stories merged together. Johannes
receives financiale consulting at the local
bank in his neighbourhood. Meanwhile
Gothenburg is in the middle of the mass
suggestion concerning the construction and
building of Ostindiefararen Götheborg.
Part two is portraiting the meeting with the
two that initially started building the boat.
Anders and Berit Wästfelt were part of and
non-profitebly ran the project for over 15
years and after a long conflict with the city
of Gothenburg they moveed 1999, to Liden
outside of Sundsvall.
What inspires me:
Often my own everyday problems that triggers
me to start working with a project. During
the process I’m often inspired by fictional
writings in general and detective novels in
particular. Up until this spring I had the privilege
of being inspired from classmates and
teachers at HFF in Gothenburg (University for
photagraphy).
