Maria Arce-Larreta graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine. She received her
undergraduate degree in Biology and Spanish at Washington University in St. Louis. She is originally
from Salt Lake City, UT. Maria enjoys brewing her own beer, camping, and traveling. She will continue
her residency training in Radiation/Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Jim Bell graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He received his
undergraduate degree in Mathematics at Kenyon College in Ohio. He is originally from Louisville, KY.
Jim loves the outdoors and college sports. He will continue his residency training in Ophthalmology at
the University of Utah.
Dan Bettis graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. He received his
undergraduate degree in Psychology and Spanish at Harding University. He is originally from Kansas
City, MO. Dan enjoys running, biking, camping, hiking, music, traveling, spending time with his family,
coffee, the Medical Outreach program, and the Kansas City Chiefs. He will continue his residency
training in Ophthalmology at the University of Utah.
Brandon Brown graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He received his
undergraduate degree from Weber State University. He is from Utah originally. Brandon enjoys music
and hockey and will finish his residency training in Dermatology.
Jacob Brown graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine from the MD/PhD
program. He received an undergraduate in Comparative Literature at Brigham Young University. HE
was born in Germany, but grew up in Midway, Utah. Jacob enjoys fly fishing, mountain biking, skiing,
and playing the banjo. He will continue his residency training in Radiology at UCSF.
Michael Burns graduated from Oregon Health & Science University. He received his undergraduate
degree in Biochemistry and Philosophy from Boston College. He is originally from Sewell, NJ. Michael
enjoys rugby, sculpture, baroque music, cooking, hiking, and being in the outdoors. He will finish his
residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Stanford University.
Lee Chung graduated from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He received
his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Harvard University. Lee was born in Idaho, but grew up
in Tennessee. He enjoys playing the electric guitar, mandolin, country music, telemark skiing,
backpacking, and bourbon. His spouse in a resident in General Surgery at the University of Utah. Lee
will continue his residency training in Neurology at the University o f Utah.
Victoria Holiday graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She received her
undergraduate degree in Biology from University of Kentucky as well. She is originally from Beattyville,
KY. Victoria enjoys movie trivia, cooking, and anything outdoors. She will finish her residency training
In Neurology at the University of Utah.
Lauren Knecht graduated from State University of New York Upstate Medical University. She
received her undergraduate degree in Biology with Physiology/Cell Biology concentration from
California Polytechnic State University. Lauren was born in San Diego, CA, but moved to Salt Lake City,
Utah when in high school. She enjoys health and fitness, running, cycling, competing in triathlons,
camping, climbing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, dancing, scuba diving, Lacrosse, and hanging
out with friends. She will finish her residency training in Anesthesiology at the University of California,
