Mike Wells<br />

Video Coordinator<br />

Mike Wells assumes the role of video coordinator in his 10th season with<br />

the <strong>Rockets</strong>. In this position, he will handle video preparation for<br />

upcoming opponents. He joined the basketball staff in 1995 as the<br />

assistant video coordinator and was promoted to video coordinator the<br />

following season. Wells became video coordinator/assistant coach in<br />

1998 before a promotion to assistant coach the following year.<br />

Wells has scouted for the United States Senior National Team for the last<br />

five seasons. He assisted USA Basketball at the 1998 World Championship<br />

of Basketball, the 1999 Tournament of the Americas, the 2000 Summer<br />

Olympics, and the <strong>2003</strong> Tournament of the Americas.<br />

Wells is a 1993 graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene in Ohio, where he played guard for the Cougars.<br />

Upon graduation, Wells stayed at his alma mater as an assistant coach for two years while earning<br />

a master’s degree in sports science from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama.<br />

Anthony Falsone<br />

Strength & Conditioning Coach<br />

BASKETBALL STAFF<br />

Anthony Falsone begins his ninth season as strength and<br />

conditioning coach for the <strong>Houston</strong> <strong>Rockets</strong>. He is responsible for the<br />

design and implementation of the players’ individual strength,<br />

conditioning and nutritional programs on a year-round basis. He also<br />

coordinates the team’s flexibility program and assists the <strong>Rockets</strong> sports<br />

medicine staff in the rehabilitation of injured players.<br />

Falsone began his career in 1986 as an assistant to conditioning specialist<br />

Tim Hallmark. During his tutelage under Hallmark, Falsone assisted in the<br />

training of a variety of professional athletes including boxing champions<br />

Evander Holyfield, Mike McCallum and Vinny Pazienza.<br />

Prior to joining the <strong>Rockets</strong>, Falsone held the position of director of sports conditioning at SW Sports<br />

Medicine & Training Center in Sugar Land. While at SW Sports, he served as a personal strength coach<br />

for Hakeem Olajuwon, as well as other athletes during the <strong>Rockets</strong> championship seasons.<br />

Having earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State in 1992, Falsone<br />

is currently working toward his master’s degree in human performance at UH-Clear Lake under Dr.<br />

Eugene Coleman Ed. D. of the <strong>Houston</strong> Astros. Falsone is a certified strength and conditioning<br />

specialist (C.S.C.S.), as well as a certified club coach by USA Weightlifting. His professional affiliations<br />

include memberships with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), the United<br />

States Weightlifting Federation (USWF) and the National Basketball Conditioning Coaches Association<br />

(NBCCA). He is also the President of Peak Performance Inc., a <strong>Houston</strong>-based fitness-consulting firm.<br />

Falsone and his wife, Tosha, reside in Missouri City and have a daughter, Rhylie, and a son, Nickalos.<br />
