It's now time for a very special event. Tonight is the first American
performance of Dragan I1ic. He's an Australian who was born in Belgrade,
Yugoslavia and has been in the US for about three weeks. He's a sculptor,
a painter and a recognized conceptual art performer, having done his
Electronic Pencils performances in Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra.

Ok ... let's move along into another area of channeled violence. The tape that's up
next was made by Scott Jacobs and me last spring at the Chicago Golden Gloves
Tournament. It's called THE GLOVES...
As you can see, this IS James Blevins --(do it for 10 inc. Jabbar tape)
This next tape may be more of Richard Nixon than you bargained for tonight, but it's
another unusual tape in that it's nothing that's ever been seen on TV. The tape was made
in the White House on the day in August, 1975 that Richard Nixon resigned.

With this next tape, we start a section of tonight's
show that I'm calling The Roots of Censorship.
Without getting
too heavy about it, the tape we're going to see is not a TV show
that was made for broadcast. It's a closed-circuit show that
was sent out to the affiliates of CBS a couple weeks ago for
the management of the stations around the country to get introduced
to the new management team at CBS. There was a major shakeup of
the corporate executives and the President of CBS, John Backe,
brought all his new top people into a studio for this program....
We'll look at some more of this tape.
Maybe I'll give you a quick
rundown on the cast of characters. John Backe is the President of CBS,
Inc. He runs all their companies including Holt Rhinehart Winston,
Creative Playthings, Columbia records and everything.

The real news of this day's events is that Bob Wussler was
s President
fired as President of the CBS television network and they changed
the structure so that there's about four people doing the jobs that two
did before. All this is an answer to ABC which has moved ahead
of CBS in ratings and has their network organization already structured
in the way CBS has now begun.
Ok -- so let's look at this tape that's John Backe, the president; and
the next guy is Gene Jankowkski, President of the Breadcast Group
which is responsible for the Network, for the five CBS-owned stations,
CBS sports and CBS News, and the Radio network and the owned radio stations.
Jankowski has just taken over from Jack Schneider who ran all that stuff
for many years.
