Degree candidates for the Doctor of Philosophy in psychology and the Doctor of Psychology have completed<br />
133 semester units of coursework in psychology, theology, integration, and research and have provided 3,000<br />
to 4,000 hours of clinical service in counseling agencies across the country. Degree candidates for the M.A. in<br />
psychology have completed over 60 semester units of coursework in psychology, theology and integration, and<br />
have provided at least 350 hours of clinical service to schools or agencies in the area.<br />
Degree candidates have completed internships or signicant crosscultural living or language experiences;<br />
foreign language prociency requirements where applicable; and comprehensive exams on their core classes<br />
and area of specialization.<br />
In addition to the required prerequ<strong>is</strong>ites, Master of Arts candidates completed 42 units (M.A. ICS); 32 units<br />
(M.A. TESOL); or 33 units (M.A. Applied Lingu<strong>is</strong>tics). Doctoral candidates entered with master’s degrees,<br />
and depending on their previous graduate classes, took 48 units of coursework and 12 units of d<strong>is</strong>sertation<br />
research for the Ph.D. in Intercultural Education and Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies and 27 units of course-<br />
work and 8 units of d<strong>is</strong>sertation research for the Doctor of M<strong>is</strong>siology. ey conducted original research and<br />
defended d<strong>is</strong>sertations on topics that contribute to the understanding and practice of <strong>education</strong> (Ph.D.) or<br />
m<strong>is</strong>siology (D.M<strong>is</strong>s.) in a cultural context.<br />
Degree candidates for the Master of Business Admin<strong>is</strong>tration program have completed these d<strong>is</strong>tinct elements:<br />
prerequ<strong>is</strong>ite coursework, required for those without a business undergraduate degree (up to 15 units); a com-<br />
mon core of graduate courses in management, marketing, nance, and accounting (21 units); a concentration<br />
of required theology courses (6 units); an integrative business ethics course (3 units); approved MBA electives<br />
(6 units); a project management capstone, and participation in the MBA Mentor Program. Graduates complete<br />
between 36 and 51 units in their program with a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or above.<br />
Degree candidates for the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership represent working professionals who<br />
have completed coursework in leadership, communication, character and organizational development while<br />
continuing to serve full time in their career of choice.<br />
Students who earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology have completed coursework emphasizing psychoso-<br />
cial development, integration, research, and foundational theories of psychological study. e BOLD Program<br />
<strong>is</strong> designed for the working adult who has returned to college aer being away from the formal <strong>education</strong> set-<br />
ting for a number of years. Each student has completed the general <strong>education</strong> and biblical studies coursework<br />
required of all <strong>Biola</strong> baccalaureate graduates, completing between 65 and 80 units of coursework at <strong>Biola</strong> with<br />
the remaining required units transferred from other institutions.<br />
