Great Events
Great events followed one another swiftly during the rest of the year. Some of them were: a
glorious home camp meeting at the First Church, Los Angeles, conducted by Rev. Bud Robinson and
Rev. J. W. Pierce; the commencement week at the Nazarene University, full of good things; the
Southern California District Assembly, presided over very ably by General Superintendent E. P.
Ellyson; victorious reports from the foreign missionaries of the church; the Southern California
District Camp Meeting, with Rev. C. B. Jernigan, superintendent of the Oklahoma and Kansas
District, as the leading preacher: a trip by Dr. and Mrs. Bresee, in October, during which he presided
at the annual meeting of the General Missionary Board, held the Chicago Central District Assembly,
and preached at Mansfield, Ill., and St. Louis, Mo.; dedication by Dr. Bresee of the new church in
Fresno, Cal., of which Rev. C. B. Langdon was the pastor; and, in December, a brief campaign by
Dr. Bresee in the Nazarene churches around San Francisco Bay.
Tides of Glory
The year 1910 closed with the Christmas love-feast at the First Church, where, as the meeting
went on, the tides of glory passed over it like the rolling waves of the great deep. This was the
twenty-fourth successive annual Christmas love-feast conducted by Dr. Bresee.
