Great Events<br />

Great events followed one another swiftly during the rest of the year. Some of them were: a<br />

glorious home camp meeting at the First Church, Los Angeles, conducted by Rev. Bud Robinson and<br />

Rev. J. W. Pierce; the commencement week at the Nazarene University, full of good things; the<br />

Southern California District Assembly, presided over very ably by General Superintendent E. P.<br />

Ellyson; victorious reports from the foreign missionaries of the church; the Southern California<br />

District Camp Meeting, with Rev. C. B. Jernigan, superintendent of the Oklahoma and Kansas<br />

District, as the leading preacher: a trip by Dr. and Mrs. <strong>Bresee</strong>, in October, during which he presided<br />

at the annual meeting of the General Missionary Board, held the Chicago Central District Assembly,<br />

and preached at Mansfield, Ill., and St. Louis, Mo.; dedication by Dr. <strong>Bresee</strong> of the new church in<br />

Fresno, Cal., of which Rev. C. B. Langdon was the pastor; and, in December, a brief campaign by<br />

Dr. <strong>Bresee</strong> in the Nazarene churches around San Francisco Bay.<br />

Tides of Glory<br />

The year 1910 closed with the Christmas love-feast at the First Church, where, as the meeting<br />

went on, the tides of glory passed over it like the rolling waves of the great deep. This was the<br />

twenty-fourth successive annual Christmas love-feast conducted by Dr. <strong>Bresee</strong>.
