"Rev. J. B. Creighton preached in the evening, his subject being, 'Death to Sin.' He spoke with
unusual unction and clearness, and twelve or fifteen persons came forward seeking salvation.
"The day closed with shouts of praise, and glad testimonies of redemption, and will take its place
in the records of our church as one of the greatest and most victorious in our history.
Work Of Committees
"One of the noticeable features of the General Assembly, was the vast amount of business
transacted by the various committees, and the untiring industry of the men and women who
constituted such committees. The long sessions of the Assembly, and the evangelistic services which
were held every evening, made it absolutely necessary for the committees to utilize every spare
moment for their labors. They did their work well and thoroughly, and in every case to the entire
satisfaction of the Assembly.
"The Assembly accomplished much more than could have been expected during such a limited
session. Its members had a mind to work, and were unanimous in their earnest purpose to do all that
they possibly could to help the cause of Christ through the instrumentality of the Church of the
Nazarene. They were also practically unanimous in their reliance upon the guidance of God, and in
their belief, that whether their individual views prevailed or not, somehow the Lord was having His
way, and all would be well. The long sessions, the earnest debates, and the momentous nature of
many of the questions that had to be decided, united to constitute a severe nervous strain upon the
delegates, but they were divinely helped, and strengthened in their arduous labors.
"The matters which came before the missionary committee were vital and of the utmost
importance. The report of this committee was very interesting, and was adopted unanimously by the
assembly.
The Missionary Committee
"In conjunction with the consideration of this report, there took place one of the most unique and
inspiring services of the entire session of the Assembly. Sister McReynolds, superintendent of the
Spanish Mission in Los Angeles, which represents the church at large, took her place on the platform
in the midst of quite a number of the men and women who have been saved and sanctified at this
mission. She briefly narrated the series of wonderful providences by which God had made possible
and opened up this marvelous work.
Educational Interests
"The work of the educational committee was also of very great importance. Included within the
scope of its action, are the Bible College, and the publishing interests of the church. The report of
the committee was able and exhaustive, and breathed a spirit of consecrated heroism and devotion
to God, which made the blood tingle and the heart beat high.
