sin, and the Gentiles, though reprobated from the progenitorship, felicitous participants of the
election of grace, also sunk deep in low debauchery, gross sensuality and idolatry, the obliquity and
rebellion of both Jew and Gentile only preparing them alike to become the recipients of God’s
wonderful and unfathomable commiseration and redeeming mercy. Hence the apostle exultantly
breaks out in joyous exclamations while he contemplates the bright side in case of both Jews and
Gentiles all alike caught in Satan’s lasso of unbelief, but gloriously redeemed by the sovereign mercy
of the Father and the dying love of the Son.
