election of grace, also sunk deep in low debauchery, gross sensuality and idolatry, the obliquity and<br />

rebellion of both Jew and Gentile only preparing them alike to become the recipients of God’s<br />

wonderful and unfathomable commiseration and redeeming mercy. Hence the apostle exultantly<br />

breaks out in joyous exclamations while he contemplates the bright side in case of both Jews and<br />

Gentiles all alike caught in Satan’s lasso of unbelief, but gloriously redeemed by the sovereign mercy<br />

of the Father and the dying love of the Son.
