The Third Annual Nativities<br />

Display known as “No Room<br />

at the Inn” will be presented<br />

from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.<br />

Saturday, Dec. 4, and 9 a.m.<br />

to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at<br />

Church of the Redeemer at<br />

8275 Meadowbridge Road in<br />

Mechanicsville.<br />

The event will kick off with<br />

a preview Gala for adults from<br />

7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec 3.<br />

This festive event offers attendees<br />

the opportunity to preview<br />

the nativities exhibit and enjoy<br />

light refreshments, live music<br />

and silent and live auctions.<br />

Tickets are $5 for adults and<br />

$1 for children and students 18<br />

and younger and can be purchased<br />

at the nativities exhibit.<br />

Gala tickets are $20 and can<br />

be purchased during office business<br />

hours or by mailing a check<br />

Teacher of the Year<br />

A Mechanicsville native has been named “Teacher of the<br />

Year” at Crestwood Intermediate School in Chesapeake.<br />

Kelley Rollins Seitz is a fi fth grade teacher and the fi fth<br />

grade chair. The school has 84 teachers. A member of the<br />

Class of 2000 at Lee-Davis High School, Seitz graduated<br />

summa cum laude in 2004 from Virginia Tech’s College of<br />

Liberal Arts and Human Science’s School of Education.<br />

She obtained her master’s in 2005 and began teaching<br />

at Crestwood that fall. In June 2008, she married Damian<br />

Seitz, an architect at Clark Nexsen Architecture and<br />

Engineering Firm in Virginia Beach. They make their home<br />

in Virginia Beach, where they are building a new home on<br />

the water.<br />

Dinner to benefi t rescue squad<br />

The King William Moose<br />

Legion’s objective of supporting<br />

local community volunteer<br />

organizations has helped the<br />

Mattaponi Volunteer Rescue<br />

Squad, the King William<br />

Sheriff ’s Department and<br />

the Mangohic Volunteer Fire<br />

Department.<br />

This year the organization’s<br />

efforts will benefit the King<br />

William Volunteer Rescue<br />

Squad.<br />

The Outback Steakhouse<br />

in Mechanicsville will donate a<br />

Steak Dinner with all the trimmings.<br />

The dinner will be held at<br />

6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7,<br />

at the King William Volunteer<br />

Rescue Squad building.<br />

The dinner is $12 per person<br />

(children under 12 years of<br />

age can eat for half price.).<br />

Tickets are limited, and<br />

may be purchased at the King<br />

William Moose Lodge, located<br />

at 15870 King William Rd.<br />

(U.S. 30) or at the King William<br />

Rescue Squad building, located<br />

just off of U.S. 360 in Aylett.<br />
