‘No Room at the
Inn’ dates slated
The Third Annual Nativities
Display known as “No Room
at the Inn” will be presented
from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 4, and 9 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at
Church of the Redeemer at
8275 Meadowbridge Road in
Mechanicsville.
The event will kick off with
a preview Gala for adults from
7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec 3.
This festive event offers attendees
the opportunity to preview
the nativities exhibit and enjoy
light refreshments, live music
and silent and live auctions.
Tickets are $5 for adults and
$1 for children and students 18
and younger and can be purchased
at the nativities exhibit.
Gala tickets are $20 and can
be purchased during office business
hours or by mailing a check
to Church of the Redeemer
(attn: No Room at the Inn) for
pick up at the Gala.

Teacher of the Year

A Mechanicsville native has been named “Teacher of the
Year” at Crestwood Intermediate School in Chesapeake.
Kelley Rollins Seitz is a fi fth grade teacher and the fi fth
grade chair. The school has 84 teachers. A member of the
Class of 2000 at Lee-Davis High School, Seitz graduated
summa cum laude in 2004 from Virginia Tech’s College of
Liberal Arts and Human Science’s School of Education.
She obtained her master’s in 2005 and began teaching
at Crestwood that fall. In June 2008, she married Damian
Seitz, an architect at Clark Nexsen Architecture and
Engineering Firm in Virginia Beach. They make their home
in Virginia Beach, where they are building a new home on
the water.
Dinner to benefi t rescue squad
The King William Moose
Legion’s objective of supporting
local community volunteer
organizations has helped the
Mattaponi Volunteer Rescue
Squad, the King William
Sheriff ’s Department and
the Mangohic Volunteer Fire
Department.
This year the organization’s
efforts will benefit the King
William Volunteer Rescue
Squad.
The Outback Steakhouse
in Mechanicsville will donate a
Steak Dinner with all the trimmings.
The dinner will be held at
6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7,
at the King William Volunteer
Rescue Squad building.
The dinner is $12 per person
(children under 12 years of
age can eat for half price.).
Tickets are limited, and
may be purchased at the King
William Moose Lodge, located
at 15870 King William Rd.
(U.S. 30) or at the King William
Rescue Squad building, located
just off of U.S. 360 in Aylett.
