84, of Mechanicsville, passed
away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010. She
is survived by her husband, Daniel
D. Fletcher; son, Paul Fletcher;
grandson, Trevor Fletcher;
brother, William Keeton; sister,
Alene Wheelhouse. The family

Clarence DeForest
Holmes Sr., age 66, of
Mechanicsville, departed this
life on Nov. 14, 2010. He is
survived by one son, Clarence
D. Holmes Jr. (Doniel) of
Hatsfield, Pa.; one daughter,
Beatrice Lewis of Vorhees,
N.J.; six grandchildren and
one great-grandchild. He also
leaves to cherish his memory
his devoted and loving
mother, Lena Clarke; sister,
Janet Claiborne (Richard);
one brother, Herbert Pettiford
(Mary); and a loving and devoted
aunt, Garland Henley;
a host of nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.

Michael J. Jaconski, 67,
of Glen Allen, passed away
peacefully on Tuesday, Nov.
16, 2010, surrounded by
his loving family. He was
preceded in death by his
father, Al Jaconski; mother,
Rose; and a brother, Bobby.
He is survived by his loving
wife of 34 years, Myanna C.
Jaconski; a daughter, Tracey
Butler and her husband,
Chris; beloved granddaughters,
Dillyn and Kennedy;
a sister, Maureen Bauberger
and husband, Charles;
a beloved son-in-law of
Frances Humes. He was also
a beloved uncle to many
nieces and nephews; and
a brother-in-law to Jackie
and Clyde Humes; and not
to forget his faithful little
buddy, Marty. Mike enjoyed
spending time with family
and friends, bowling, NAS-
CAR, his beloved New York
Giants and everything involving
his granddaughters.

Marion Cowardin
Lazzuri, 94, of Mechanicsville,
passed away Nov. 16, 2010.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Anselmo Lazzuri;
daughter, Barbara L. Stanley; and
son-in-law, James A. Thorpe III.
She is survived by her children,
Marie L. Thorpe, Frederic A. Lazzuri
and his wife, Janet, Katherine
L. Bosch; grandchildren, Kimberly
A. Stanley, James A. Thorpe,
Jessica L. Kelley, Caryn A. Lazzuri,
Ashley M. Jarrells and Lindsey D.
Matthews; great-grandchild, Jackson
B. Kelley; and sister, Virginia

Robert E. Matthews, 92,
of Richmond, died Nov. 14, 2010.
He is survived by his wife of 73
years, Eloise Spicer Matthews; his
daughter, Janette Bridgers and her
husband, M. W. “Buddy” Bridgers
Jr.; two grandchildren, M. Warren
Bridgers III and wife, Trish, and
Amy Bridgers Grenevicki and
husband, Lance; three greatgrandchildren,
Katy Bridgers,
Anna and Lance Grenevicki; and
many nieces and nephews. Mr.
Matthews retired from DuPont
and was a hunter, fisherman and
gardener. He served as Master of
Masonic Lodge Fitzgerald #299
and was currently a member
of Westhampton #302 and a
member of Fairmount Christian
Church. The family received
friends at the Mechanicsville
Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home,
8014 Lee-Davis Rd., Tuesday,
Nov. 16, 2010 and where services
were held Wednesday, Nov. 17,
2010. Graveside services followed,
with Masonic graveside rites at
Washington Memorial Park. The
family extends special thanks to
Hospice at Retreat Hospital, the
nurses and doctor who cared
for him; and special caregivers,
Sharonda Pate, Lyn Streeter and
Annette Johnson.
Clarence Wayne Martin,
age 62, of Colonial Heights,
entered into the presence of the
Lord on Nov. 17, 2010. He is survived
by his wife, Marsha Boulier
Martin; five children, Christine
M. Martin, Jennifer G. Martin,
Robert W. Martin (Pamela), Clarence
J. Martin and William H.
Leake (Joan); his father, Clarence
Lee Martin; and stepmother, Phyllis
A. Martin; one sister, Patricia
Wetzel; two grandchildren, Alex
and Nathan Leake; and three
great-grandchildren, Charles,
Embrea and Landon Morgan; and
their mother, Dawna H. Pearson.
Dr. Martin was a minister of the
Gospel, used by God to lay the
foundation of The Upper Room
Chapel, located at 7013 Dyer
Lane, Richmond, Va., where he
served as pastor for 13 years and
spent most of his time “mending
broken people.” The family
received friends Sunday, Nov. 21,
2010 at The Upper Room Chapel,
where services were held Monday,
Nov. 22, 2010. Graveside services
followed at Dale Memorial Park.
