Holmes Sr., age 66, of<br />

life on Nov. 14, 2010. He is<br />

Beatrice Lewis of Vorhees,<br />

N.J.; six grandchildren and<br />

one great-grandchild. He also<br />

He is survived by his loving<br />

He is survived by his wife of 73<br />

years, Eloise Spicer Matthews; his<br />

daughter, Janette Bridgers and her<br />

husband, M. W. “Buddy” Bridgers<br />

Jr.; two grandchildren, M. Warren<br />

Bridgers III and wife, Trish, and<br />

Amy Bridgers Grenevicki and<br />

husband, Lance; three greatgrandchildren,<br />

Katy Bridgers,<br />

Anna and Lance Grenevicki; and<br />

many nieces and nephews. Mr.<br />

Matthews retired from DuPont<br />

and was a hunter, fisherman and<br />

gardener. He served as Master of<br />

Masonic Lodge Fitzgerald #299<br />

and was currently a member<br />

of Westhampton #302 and a<br />

member of Fairmount Christian<br />

Church. The family received<br />

friends at the Mechanicsville<br />

Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home,<br />

8014 Lee-Davis Rd., Tuesday,<br />

Nov. 16, 2010 and where services<br />

were held Wednesday, Nov. 17,<br />

2010. Graveside services followed,<br />

with Masonic graveside rites at<br />

Washington Memorial Park. The<br />

family extends special thanks to<br />

Hospice at Retreat Hospital, the<br />

nurses and doctor who cared<br />

for him; and special caregivers,<br />

Sharonda Pate, Lyn Streeter and<br />

Annette Johnson.<br />

Clarence Wayne Martin,<br />

age 62, of Colonial Heights,<br />

entered into the presence of the<br />

Lord on Nov. 17, 2010. He is survived<br />

by his wife, Marsha Boulier<br />

Robert W. Martin (Pamela), Clarence<br />

Leake (Joan); his father, Clarence<br />

Lee Martin; and stepmother, Phyllis<br />

Dr. Martin was a minister of the<br />

Gospel, used by God to lay the<br />

foundation of The Upper Room<br />

Chapel, located at 7013 Dyer<br />

Lane, Richmond, Va., where he<br />

served as pastor for 13 years and<br />

spent most of his time “mending<br />

broken people.” The family<br />

received friends Sunday, Nov. 21,<br />

2010 at The Upper Room Chapel,<br />

where services were held Monday,<br />

Nov. 22, 2010. Graveside services<br />

followed at Dale Memorial Park.<br />
