Tips for Techs (continued from page 2)
7. Install processor fan over hole in top of new processor
enclosure with two screws. Make sure arrow indicating
direction of airflow remains facing you and points away
from processor tray (see Figure 1 detail).
8. Install new processor enclosure on back wall of
machine enclosure.
9. Reinstall motherboard assembly.
10. Reinstall processor tray.
11. If applicable, replace existing fan harness on motherboard
at J12 with new harness (see Figure 2).
12. Reinstall video monitor fan assembly and connect both
fans to new harness.
13. Reinstall hopper and video monitor.
14. Plug main power cord into AC power distribution box,
power on machine, and close top panel.
Additional instructions are available for installing a processor
fan in the following Game King® machines: 13” flattop,
13” slant-top, 13” upright, 17” upright, 19” upright,
and 19” slant-top. Go to the Customer Notification area
and conduct a search for CN 2043.
IGT Buys Software Company
IGT recently purchased the assets of Tennecom Solutions,
LLC, a company that makes tracking software for casino table
games. This product will be marketed as an IGS module
consisting of a player tracking and table games information
system, table inventory tracking, and casino management
information.
“We made this acquisition in response to our casino customers’
interest in the range of possibilities and conveniences it
offers,” said IGT Senior Vice President Rich Pennington. Tennecom
systems are currently operating at the Venetian, Paris
and Bally’s casinos in Las Vegas, Foxwoods in Connecticut,
and the Boardwalk in Atlantic City.
Know Your Nudges (continued from page 1)
Nudge Lights or Second Effort (Type
18): Just as in Type 5, multiple nudges
consist of a maximum of three Nudge
Up symbols and/or a maximum of
three Nudge Down symbols. In addition,
if a certain combination is hit,
up to four Nudges Available lights are
displayed (numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4),
with the Nudge light illuminated.
The player may then choose to press
any of the three Skill switches and
nudge down the particular reel that
is associated with that Skill switch. At
this point, if any nudges remain, the
Nudge light remains lit and the next
lowest Nudges Available light illuminates.
Pressing the Spin switch at any
time cancels the nudges and the game
continues. If a spin or nudge results in
a top award, all nudges are cancelled
so that the top award may remain.
Random Nudge (Type 23): This
allows the data EPROM to determine
FOB Reno
FOB – it’s an acronym for a common, long-standing
shipping practice. It literally translates to “Free on
Board.” That means that the ownership of merchandise,
and responsibility for loss or damage during
shipping, transfers to the buyer once the merchandise
leaves the manufacturer’s shipping point.
For most products purchased from IGT, the shipping
terms are FOB Reno. Some buyers choose to negotiate
cargo insurance directly with the shipping company,
or already have purchased cargo insurance
through their own insurer, but many others cross
their fingers and gamble on a safe and uneventful
transit.
For those who’d like another option, IGT is pleased
to announce its new Customer Cargo Insurance program.
Designed to protect your investment in the
event of an accident and/or careless handling during
shipping, the Customer Cargo Insurance program
offers competitively priced coverage with a highly
rated and reputable insurance company.
For more information about IGT’s Customer Cargo
Insurance program, contact your IGT account
executive.
Changing Paytable
Percentages
Vision Series® machines with the Stepper Base (SB)
chip SB000001, or S2000 machines with the SB
chip SB001000 require that an S-Plus paytable
EPROM (SS#####) be installed in the U-17 location
on the processor board.
which symbols are nudged and in
which direction. Any symbol – including
graphically blank symbols – can
nudge in any direction. Since any
symbol can nudge in either direction,
there are no graphic indicators showing
the player which direction the reel
will nudge. In addition, if multiple
nudges are awarded, the game determines
a random order in nudging the
reels.
