Creating a message<br />

3 Click where you want to place the lifeline point graphic.<br />

4 Type a name for the lifeline point. Then click on the window<br />

background to close the edit box.<br />

A message is a named communication from one object to another.<br />

A return message is a named communication that is the response<br />

to a message.<br />

To create a message:<br />

1 In the UML Sequence Diagram Tools tool folder, click and hold<br />

on the tool representing the type of message you want to create.<br />

2 Drag to the lifeline point that send the message and release the<br />

mouse button.<br />

3 Click on the lifeline point that receives the message.<br />

4 Type the name of the message. Then click on the window<br />

background to close the edit box.<br />

You can use the Message Instance Information form to view and<br />

modify information about a message.
