Its extensible, metamodelbased infrastructure ensures that you can model both business and application systems to the level of detail you choose, using the approach you prefer. This chapter contains general information about FrameWork models. It includes an overview of the types of models FrameWork directly supports and explains how information about models is presented in the remainder of this book. If you have Enterprise FrameWork Professional, you can create new types of models and the tools to build them. For information on creating your own model types, see Customizing FrameWork. About FrameWork models 1 Models and metamodels A FrameWork model is a structured representation of objects relevant to a specific view of a particular knowledge domain.
