2 Drag into your component diagram window and release the
mouse button.
3 While holding down the left mouse button, drag a box around
the subcomponents.
4 Click on the component that contains the subcomponents.
Depends-on relationships
A depends-on relationship shows how one components supports
another. In a depends-on relationship, one component requires the
presence of another in order to function as designed.
To create a depends-on relationship:
1 In the UML Component Diagram Tools tool folder, click and
hold on the Depends On tool.
2 Drag to the dependent component and release the mouse
button.
3 Click on the supporting component.
Requires relationships
A requires relationship connects a component to the interface it
requires from another components.
To create a requires relationship:
1 In the UML Component Diagram Tools tool folder, click and
hold on the Requires tool.
2 Drag to the component that requires the interface and release
the mouse button.
