Filling up of Lapsed Seats As far as filling up of Lapsed seats in concerned, the guidelines issued in this office Circular No. 2144 / J2 / 2009, dated: 6.3.2009 shall be adopted. 9. Mode of Selection – Government quota a) Admission to Lateral Entry B.E under “Government quota” includes : i) Seats in Government Engineering Colleges ii) Seats in Government Aided Engineering Colleges iii) Seats surrendered by the managements of affiliated Self-Financing Engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. iv) Seats surrendered by Anna University, Chennai and Trichy 10. Reservation of seats for B.Sc. candidates under Government quota As per G.O. (Ms.) 154, Higher Education (J1) Department, dated: 4.6.2006, 900 seats are reserved for B.Sc. candidates under Government quota. 11. Counselling i) Counselling for admission under “Government quota” will be done at Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi 630004. ii) Merit list will be prepared separately for Diploma and B.Sc. candidates. iii) The rank list will be prepared on the basis of the marks secured in the Final year semesters reduced to 100. iv) As per the rank list, candidates will be provisionally selected for admission following the communal reservation. There will be counselling on the basis of the rank list and the candidates have the choice of selecting any college and appropriate course as per availability at the time of counseling. The date, time for the counseling will be intimated to the eligible candidates. No change of date / time of counselling is permissible. Candidates who do not attend the counseling on the specified date and time may have to forego the claim of admission. Page 8 of 35
12. Revaluation / Retotalling of marks in Qualifying Examination. The candidates who have applied for Revaluation / Retotalling of marks in the qualifying examination are also required to submit the application within the last date fixed for receipt of application. After receipt of marks due to revaluation / retotalling the candidate should inform the variation of marks or with the result of pass in the examination to the Secretary, Second Year Engineering Admissions – 2009, Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi 630004 with relevant records. Only at the time receipt of revaluation / retotalling of marks, the Secretary shall incorporate the candidate in the appropriate merit position in the rank list and the candidate may be considered for Counselling against the seats that are available at the time of receipt of revaluation / retotalling of marks.
