Lecture - was delivered by Prof. Datta Limaye on Vridhatvatil Virangula – Mazhya Vyavsayik Natakatil Gamti Jamti. Over 23 SEF members attended the program. Lecture - by Shri J.K. Saraf on “Drive to Kashmir-Leh- Ladakh from Pune”. 21 people attended the program. A workshop on “Ultimate Health & Happiness” was organized by SEF. Dr. Shirish Patwardhan, Dr. Nitin Unkule, and Dr. Dilip Sarda guided the participants. Over 30 people attended the workshop. A presentation on “Problems of Elderly in Orthopedic & Diabetic Area” by Dr. Abhijit Joshi, M.B.B.S., D. Ortho, Fellow NUH (Singapore) was organized. 23 SEF members attended the presentation. Presentation by Shri Bhagwan Harani, BE (Mech) on "Physics Applied to Human Psychology (Manas Shastra) - Do you want to be Happy, a Scientific Approach" was organized. 15 SEF members attended the same. Lecture - on “Janandolane – Swatantrya Purvichi ani Janandolane - Swatantrya Nantarchi” by Adv. Nitin M. Apte, B.Com and L.L.B. was organized. 19 people attended the presentation. SEF jointly with Defence Committee of MCCIA had organized a presentation on “Self Reliance in Defence Equipment through Indigenisation with Public-Private Partnership”. The presentation was made by Air Vice Marshal (Retd) RD Limaye, AVSM (MSc, FAeSI). 20 people attended the presentation. A lecture - by Shri. Arvind Karmarkar, SEF Associate & Demand Management Expert on "Increasing SIGNIFICANCE of University-Industry Joint R&D for Developed Nations and vis-a-vis to us, India"! was organized. 19 SEF members attended the same. A presentation by Shri Rajesh Kumar on "Sustainability Reporting" was organized. 22 SEF members attended the presentation. Kane, Adjunct Professor of Chemical Engineering & Independent Researcher was organized. 25 SEF members attended the presentation. Lecture - by Shri Sarang Yadwadkar, B.Arch., F.I.I.A. on SIS of the river navigation/restoration project was organised. 16 people attended the same. A presentation on "Various Issues in Lok Pal Debate" by Shri Y.H. Gharpure, Chairman, SEF was organized. Over 30 people attended the presentation. A presentation in Marathi on "Aaplya Purvajaani Swikarleli Samaj Vyavashta Aani Tyat Jyeshta Nagarikaanche Sthaan" by Lt. Col. (Retd.) Shri M.G. Athavle, MIE(I), DBM, Past President ASCOP was organized. 36 people from all walks of life attended the program. A lecture - in Marathi on the concept of "Senior Citizen Katta – Ek Virangula Kendra” by Adv. Madhavi Gokhale, was organized. 20 SEF members attended the lecture. A joint seminar by SEF and Pune Housing Federation and Navi Mumbai Housing Federation on “Housing Cooperatives & the Legal Issues” was organized. Chairmen and Representatives of Pune Housing Federation and Navi Mumbai Housing Federation guided the participants about various issues of Housing Cooperatives. Over 22 people attended the seminar. A presentation on "Marketing-Industrial-SEF" by Shri Bhagwan Harani, BE (Mech) was organized. 16 SEF members attended the lecture presentation. A presentation (In Marathi) on "Therapeutic counselling and self-healing devices” by Mrs. Lata Chaudhari, BA, MSW, was organized. 15 participants attended the session. A presentation on “Urban Regeneration and Creative Economy” By Prof. Akashi Yoshihiko, Osaka City was organized. This lecture was co-sponsored by Indo-Japan Business Council. 18 participants were present .
State Level Taxation Committee Chairperson : Adv. Govind Patwardhan Officer : Mr. Ashok Budhkar Meetings, Seminars and Workshops MVAT Seminar The prime objective of the MVAT seminar was to educate tax payers regarding registration, refund, returns, rate of tax, etc. The panelist comprised of Adv. Govind Patwardhan, Chairman, State Level Taxation Committee, MCCIA and Mr. Suhas Padhye, Consultant and Member of the State level Taxation committee, MCCIA. The seminar was attended by 121 participants. Celebration of the Tax Freedom Day This was the third year of the event. "Tax Freedom Day" is the first day of the year in which a nation as a whole has theoretically earned enough income to fund its annual tax burden. It is the cost the citizens including individuals, corporate and other legal entities pay to government for governance. Considering all the taxes which we pay , the average tax burden on citizens in India is estimated at about 33%. This translates into about first four months of the financial year. Thus in a financial st year commencing on 1 of April, an average citizen works till about the last day of July for paying taxes to the Government and achieves his freedom from payment of taxes in August and that is celebrated as "Tax Freedom Day" The citizens neither have mechanism to air their grievances nor the efficient redressal system. There are sporadic attempts to air grievances. This was an attempt to create tax awareness. Mr. Yamaji Malkar, editor – Arthapurna, Monthly Magazine and Advisor / Editor – "Divya – Marathi" gave the presentation on "Eradication of black money" and Mr. Abhay Tilak of Arthabodh gave lecture presentation on "Black Money with Middle Class Population and it's Effects". The program was attended by 55 participants. Certificate course in " MVAT and CST The certificate course in " MVAT and CST with reference to preparation for Sales Tax Audit " was organised which saw an inclusion of 64 participants. The faculty for the course was Adv. G. Y. Patwardhan, Mr. Anil Vakharia, Mr. Hemant Patki, Mr. Amit Sheode, Mr. Milind Bhonde and Adv. Mahesh Bhagwat. Various aspects of MVAT and CST were covered in the course. Workshop on " Issues under VAT Audit ( Form No. 704 ) This workshop focused on various issues related to VAT Audit and contents of Form No. 704 of MVAT. The faculty for the workshop were Adv. G. Y. Patwardhan, CA M. B. 45 Abhyankar and Mr. Suhas Padhye. The workshop was attended by 89 participants. Tourism Committee Chairperson : Mrs. Zelam Chaubal Officer: Mr. D. V. Presentation on Switzerland : The Best Tourist and MICE destination was organized for the corporate sector for conducting their Business and Incentive meetings at an attractive destination in Switzerland. 65 participants attended. Representations submitted to Government: Representation was submitted to Mr. Mahesh Pathak, Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation to make Yellow Fever vaccination facility at Pune for tourists who visit African and South African countries.
