The workshop was conducted by Ms Jill Sheldekar,<br />

Intercultural Trainer and Director <strong>of</strong> Ethnosynth<br />

Consulting. The workshop included a panel discussion in<br />

which the panel members shared their experiences<br />

about dealing with citizens <strong>of</strong> other countries and inputs<br />

about the cultural aspects in global business context. Mr.<br />

Sardeshmukh-Director General, MCCIA, Mr. Bart<br />

Vanoverbecke, Managing Director <strong>of</strong> TCR-GIVI India, Ms.<br />

Opportunities in Current Scenario<br />

Mr. Arun Sehgal, Chairman-Chempro Group made a<br />

presentation on this topic and urged the business<br />

community to explore non traditional markets for<br />

business promotion in addition to the present ones. His<br />

presentation was a part <strong>of</strong> the event to promote<br />

International Business Development Form INDIALLIA<br />

2012.<br />

Interactive session with <strong>of</strong>ficials from National<br />

Petrochemical Company <strong>of</strong> Iran<br />

A delegation from the National Petrochemical Company<br />

<strong>of</strong> Iran visited MCCIA to understand the strengths <strong>of</strong> our<br />

region and explore possibilities <strong>of</strong> promoting business<br />

exchanges in selected areas dependent on Petrochem<br />

(such as Engineering, Polymers and other areas). This<br />

visit was part <strong>of</strong> the UNIDO initiative to promote<br />

business exchanges for various sectors. Delegation from<br />

Iran National Petrochemical Co. (NPC) included Mr.<br />

Mohammad Ziar- DG <strong>of</strong> Petrochemical Down-Stream<br />

<strong>Industries</strong>, Mr. Hamid Ajami - Advisor <strong>of</strong> Development<br />

and Planning <strong>of</strong> NPC and Mr. Vahid Kiani - Manager <strong>of</strong><br />

Infrastructure Affairs and Iran Plast Fair.<br />

Seminar on Doing Business and Investing in Australia -<br />

Focus Sectors Automotive and Education<br />

The Australian Trade Commission in partnership with<br />

Gujarat NRE, University <strong>of</strong> Wollongong's Innovation<br />

Campus with the support <strong>of</strong> MCCIA organized this<br />

seminar. The seminar provided an overview <strong>of</strong> the<br />

business and investment climate in Australia, showcased<br />

Australia as a leader in innovation and featured<br />

participation <strong>of</strong> a successful Indian investor in Australia.<br />

India<br />

<strong>Mahratta</strong> <strong>Chamber</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Commerce</strong>, <strong>Industries</strong> and<br />

Agriculture in association with Steinbach and Partner,<br />

Germany and its recently launched Indian subsidiary,<br />

Steinbach and Partner Executive Consultants India Pvt.<br />

Ltd. organized a panel discussion. Mr. Ajay Mehta, Mr. T.<br />

C. A. Rangachari, Former Indian Ambassador to Germany<br />

and Mr. Sebastian Steinbach <strong>of</strong> Steinbach and Partner,<br />

Germany, were the panelist.<br />

Mr. Frank G. Wisner, Former Ambassador for USA to India<br />

visited MCCIA for an Interactive session on US-India<br />

Relations, the Challenges Ahead and their Impact on<br />

Bilateral Trade. This session provided an useful insight<br />

into the prospects and challenges ahead for Indo-US<br />

trade and economic relations.<br />

Special seminar on How the German PE Investors are<br />

looking to Internationalise their Portfolio Companies<br />

This seminar provided a deep insight to the participants,<br />

about the perspective <strong>of</strong> German Investors in supporting<br />

international business <strong>of</strong> German companies. Mr. Marko<br />

Maschek from Pinova Capita and Mr. Ajay Mehta–Vice<br />

President and Chairman-International Business and<br />

Relations Committee, MCCIA addressed the participants<br />

on the occasion.<br />

Interactive session with Consul General for South Africa<br />

in Mumbai<br />

Mr. Pule Malefane, Consul General for South Africa in<br />

Mumbai visited MCCIA for an interactive session with the<br />

Business Community from the Pune region. He said that
