ISO 9001 Organisation Training Workshops Workshop on ‘Industrial Safety- Prevention of Fires & Occupational Illnesses’ was conducted by Prof. Suresh Bokil, Safety Professional. 56 persons from various Industries responded to this workshop. Training program on ‘Customer Relation Skills for Telephone Operators/Receptionists/ Front Office Staff’ was conducted by Ms. Veenu Shivdasani, Learning and Development Consultant. 38 participants attended this training program. Seminar on “Managing Expectations of Expats working and living in Pune” Workshop on ‘Explore the Genius Within’ was conducted by Mr. Dinesh Nathani - Change Energy Evangelist. 22 participants attended this program. Round Table Seminar on ‘Managing Expectations of Expats working and living in Pune’. Speakers from Crown Worldwide Movers and SIETAR India conducted the seminar. 40 persons attended this program. Workshop on ‘Time Management – Managing Time & Relationships’ was conducted by Mr. Sharu Rangnekar - Eminent Management Trainer. 28 participants attended this workshop. Workshop on ‘Smart Supervisor’ was conducted by Mr. Rajendra Bharate - CEO & MD, Concepts Clearance Co. Pvt. Ltd. 54 participants availed the opportunity of this program. Other Activities Best Human Response Award was jointly organised by MCCIA and Rotary Club of Poona West. The Winners were ThyssenKrupp Industries and Walchandnagar Industries. Mr. Kishor Chaukar, M. D., Tata Industries Ltd. was the Chief Guest for the occasion. th 78 Annual Report 2011-12 MAHRATTA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, INDUSTRIES AND AGRICULTURE 28 Safety Activity The main highlight of this activity was the Sale of Safety Awareness Material. This year, the sale created a record in the history of MCCIA, with the total sale crossed Rs.19 Lakhs. More than 20 different items of safety awareness material were sold from three safety sale counters specially opened at MCCIA Offices at Tilak Road, Bhosari and Ahmednagar. This year material was sold not only in Maharashtra but also to companies in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Panel discussion on ‘Principles of Natural Justice’ by Mr. Vaibhav Ramtirthakar, Management Consultant and Trainer. Mr. Ramesh Patil - HR Director, Serum Institute, Mr. Ajit Abhyankar, Union Leader and CPI (M) Activist & Adv. Rajiv Joshi were the other panelists. 75 persons attended the discussion. Kopardekar Dewang Mehta Memorial Event As a mark of respect to the tremendous contribution of Legendary IT Evangelist Late Mr. Dewang Mehta, MCCIA has been organizing events in his memory in April every year. This year's event focused on Affordable Computing, IT for Academic Excellence and New Business Opportunities. Speakers at the event included Mr. Anant Sardeshmukh- Director General, MCCIA, Dr. Deepak Shikarpur, Chairman, Information Technology Committee-MCCIA, Dr. R. K. Shevgaonkar, the then Vice Chancellor and Mr. Najib Khan – CEO, Bharati Airtel Ltd. Presentation on Bangalore IT.Biz 2011 and various IT and e-Governance initiatives of Government of Karnataka 29 th 78 Annual Report 2011-12 Audience at the Dewang Mehta Memorial lecture A presentation on one of the major IT events in India – Bangalore IT.Biz and informative address on e- Governance initiatives of Government of Karnataka was organized for the benefit of the IT community from Pune. Mr. M. N. Vidyashankar, I. A. S., Principal Secretary, Department of IT, BT S&T, DPAR (e-gov), Government of Karnataka, delivered the keynote address. Presentation on Current Economic Situation in USA and Implications for IT Industry Mr. Kenneth L. Coleman, Chairman of Accelrys, Inc. and MIPS Technology and Saama Technologies, Inc. addressed the participants about the current economic scenario in USA and the prospects for IT and ITES sector etc. Special program on Enterprise Cyber-Security Speakers for the program included Dr. Deepak Shikarpur, Chairman- IT Committee, MCCIA, Mr. Anshul Abhang, Director, Fluxonix Security Solutions, Mr. Mahesh Sonawane – Chief Information Security Officer, Sungard, Mr. Ashish Pradhan, Senior Director-Engineering, Symantec, Dr. Sanjay Shinde, DCP - Cybercrime and Economic Offences Wing, Pune. The event was organized jointly with Fluxonix Security Solutions. Workshop on drafting a Winning Bid Document The workshop was conducted by Mr. Waman Jawadekar. It helped the participants to understand the characteristics of a Winning Bid Document. Interactive session for SMEs on Protecting your Business from Cyber Thefts This workshop provided a good opportunity to the participants to learn about the legal, commercial and ethical issue involved in cyber security. Speakers for the session were Ms. Nina Godbole and Adv. Vaishali Bhagwat.
