Sensitisation program on IPR in s<strong>of</strong>tware for MSME<br />

This program was jointly organized with FICCI, New Delhi<br />

and the Department <strong>of</strong> Information Technology, Ministry<br />

<strong>of</strong> communication and Information Technology,<br />

Government <strong>of</strong> India. The seminar was mainly organised<br />

for MSMEs, to sensitize them on the relevance <strong>of</strong> IPR's in<br />

business growth and importance <strong>of</strong> S<strong>of</strong>tware Asset<br />

Management (SAM). The eminent faculty for the program<br />

were Mr. Keshav Dhakad, Chairman, Business S<strong>of</strong>tware<br />

Alliance India, New Delhi and Ms. Lizum Mishra, Director,<br />

B.S.A., New Delhi, Mr. R. Y. Deshpande, C-DAC. The<br />

program was well received by 80 participants.<br />

Intricacies <strong>of</strong> Contract<br />

The important contents covered in the course included<br />

process <strong>of</strong> making contract – negotiations, <strong>of</strong>fer and<br />

acceptance, letter <strong>of</strong> intent, MOU, purchase order,<br />

invoice, pr<strong>of</strong>orma invoice, parties to contract,<br />

obligations, types <strong>of</strong> management, security for<br />

performance, consequences <strong>of</strong> breach and enforcement<br />

<strong>of</strong> contracts, etc. Mr. Vivek Sadhale, Company Secretary<br />

and Head – Legal and Investor Relations, Persistent<br />

Systems Ltd., and Ms. Nilima Bhadbhade, Senior Lecturer,<br />

ILS Law College, Pune conducted the course. There were<br />

11 participants for the same.<br />

Program on “Knowledge Session on FEMA,<br />

Working Capital & Cross Border Transactions”<br />

The objective <strong>of</strong> the program was to create an awareness<br />

on regulations attached to FEMA, to know about the<br />

different aspects <strong>of</strong> liaisoning with RBI and related<br />

documentation, to understand different modes <strong>of</strong><br />

financing viz. cash credit, WCDL, overdraft,<br />

faculty for this program were Mr. Pankaj Bhutani, Vice-<br />

Lending, HSBC and Mr. Aveek Saha, Trade-Head, HSBA.<br />

The program was sponsored by HSBC and 120<br />

1. Seminar on Simulation systems in Defence :<br />

Opportunities for Indian Industry<br />

This program was organized jointly with NASSCOM. The<br />

main objective <strong>of</strong> this seminar was to increase<br />

awareness on the emerging trends and technologies for<br />

simulation systems for Defence projects.<br />

Representatives <strong>of</strong> the Army, Navy and Air Force<br />

participated and provided the roadmap for simulation<br />

requirements in Defence. Brig T.S.A. Narayanan,<br />

Commandant, Simulator Development Division,<br />

Secundrabad informed members that his division has<br />

been the pioneer in the country in the development <strong>of</strong><br />

training simulators for the Army and has over two<br />

decades <strong>of</strong> knowledge in this domain. Other speakers<br />

included Captain B. R. Singh (IN) from the Naval HQ; Gp<br />

Capt Ashutosh Dixit, VM, VSM from the Air HQ , Dr. K. M.<br />

Rajan, Sc ‘G’ from ARDE, Pune and Mr. K.S.N. Murthy,<br />

Controller, CQA (Radars & Systems). Capt (IN) BK Kalra<br />

(Retd), Head - Production Centre, Strategic Systems<br />

Complex – Talegaon from Larsen & Toubro; Mr. Sagar<br />

2. Seminar and exhibition on Indigenisation-<br />

Opportunities for Industry with Indian Air Force<br />

The main objective <strong>of</strong> the seminar was to highlight the<br />

financial aspects and indigenisation procedure through<br />

presentations and display <strong>of</strong> systems/sub-systems at the<br />

concurrent exhibition by Base Repair Depots. The Chief<br />

Guest was Air Marshal Jagdish Chandra, AVSM, VSM, AOCin-C<br />

Maintenance Command, IAF. Mr Baghel, Group<br />

Director - Aircraft, CEMILLAC (DRDO) delivered the keynote<br />
