Sensitisation program on IPR in software for MSME
This program was jointly organized with FICCI, New Delhi
and the Department of Information Technology, Ministry
of communication and Information Technology,
Government of India. The seminar was mainly organised
for MSMEs, to sensitize them on the relevance of IPR's in
business growth and importance of Software Asset
Management (SAM). The eminent faculty for the program
were Mr. Keshav Dhakad, Chairman, Business Software
Alliance India, New Delhi and Ms. Lizum Mishra, Director,
B.S.A., New Delhi, Mr. R. Y. Deshpande, C-DAC. The
program was well received by 80 participants.
Intricacies of Contract
The important contents covered in the course included
process of making contract – negotiations, offer and
acceptance, letter of intent, MOU, purchase order,
invoice, proforma invoice, parties to contract,
obligations, types of management, security for
performance, consequences of breach and enforcement
of contracts, etc. Mr. Vivek Sadhale, Company Secretary
and Head – Legal and Investor Relations, Persistent
Systems Ltd., and Ms. Nilima Bhadbhade, Senior Lecturer,
ILS Law College, Pune conducted the course. There were
11 participants for the same.
FEMA, working Capital and Cross border transactions
Program on “Knowledge Session on FEMA,
Working Capital & Cross Border Transactions”
The objective of the program was to create an awareness
on regulations attached to FEMA, to know about the
different aspects of liaisoning with RBI and related
documentation, to understand different modes of
financing viz. cash credit, WCDL, overdraft,

faculty for this program were Mr. Pankaj Bhutani, Vice-

1. Seminar on Simulation systems in Defence :
Opportunities for Indian Industry
This program was organized jointly with NASSCOM. The
main objective of this seminar was to increase
awareness on the emerging trends and technologies for
simulation systems for Defence projects.
Representatives of the Army, Navy and Air Force
participated and provided the roadmap for simulation
requirements in Defence. Brig T.S.A. Narayanan,
Commandant, Simulator Development Division,
Secundrabad informed members that his division has
been the pioneer in the country in the development of
training simulators for the Army and has over two
decades of knowledge in this domain. Other speakers
included Captain B. R. Singh (IN) from the Naval HQ; Gp
Capt Ashutosh Dixit, VM, VSM from the Air HQ , Dr. K. M.
Rajan, Sc ‘G’ from ARDE, Pune and Mr. K.S.N. Murthy,
Controller, CQA (Radars & Systems). Capt (IN) BK Kalra
(Retd), Head - Production Centre, Strategic Systems
Complex – Talegaon from Larsen & Toubro; Mr. Sagar
Prasad, Regional Manager (W) from ANSYS Software Pvt.

The main objective of the seminar was to highlight the
financial aspects and indigenisation procedure through
presentations and display of systems/sub-systems at the
