The base bid involves construction <strong>of</strong> a ramped entrance to the building, modifications<br />
to the elevator, first floor bathrooms, public telephones, and drinking<br />
fountains to accommodate the handicapped. Also as part <strong>of</strong> this project are modifications<br />
to the front entrance, including new steps, new entrance deck and exhaust<br />
air duct extension. The modification <strong>of</strong> the front entrance will correct the present<br />
problem <strong>of</strong> humid air being discharged under the entrance deck.<br />
Alternate No. 1 deletes all work related to the modifications <strong>of</strong> the front entrance.<br />
It is recommended that a contract be awarded to McNeilly Construction, Inc. <strong>of</strong><br />
Lansing, <strong>Michigan</strong> in the amount <strong>of</strong> $23,957, which accepts the base bid only, and<br />
that the following budget be established:<br />
