September 26, 1975<br />

6. Report <strong>of</strong> the death <strong>of</strong> Carlyle M. Miller on August 23, 1975. Mr. Miller was born<br />

April 25, 1900, was employed on March 10, 1949, and was a Tinsmith in the Physical<br />

Plant Division at the time <strong>of</strong> his retirement August 1, 1965.<br />

7. Report <strong>of</strong> the death <strong>of</strong> Jay McNitt on August 23, 1975. Mr. McNitt was born November 9,<br />

1899, was employed on November 13, 1947, and was a Maintenance Man in Married Housing<br />

at the time <strong>of</strong> his retirement January 1, 1965.<br />

8. Report <strong>of</strong> the death <strong>of</strong> Edward W. Beckhorn, Animal Caretaker in Large Animal Surgery v.<br />

and Medicine on September 3, 1975. Mr. Beckhorn was born May 3, 1921, and had been<br />

employed by the University since December 31, 1947.<br />

9. Report <strong>of</strong> the death <strong>of</strong> J. Frederick Davis, Pr<strong>of</strong>essor, Crop and Soil Sciences, on<br />

September 4, 1975. Dr. Davis was born September 11, 1908 and had been a member <strong>of</strong><br />

the faculty since May 1, 1946.<br />

10. Report <strong>of</strong> the death <strong>of</strong> Loren A. Friess, Labor II, Campus Park and Planning, on<br />

September 9, 1975. Mr. Friess was born April 4, 1921 and had been employed by the<br />

University since June 28, 1965.<br />

11. Report <strong>of</strong> the death <strong>of</strong> Madeline Vener, Instructor, American Thought and Language, on<br />

September 12, 1975. Mrs. Vener was born January 30, 1929 and had been a member <strong>of</strong><br />

the faculty since September 16, 1971.<br />

12. Report <strong>of</strong> the death <strong>of</strong> Dolores J. Zeigler, Custodian, Physical Plant, on September 13,<br />

1975. Miss Zeigler was born September 17, 1936 and had been employed by the University<br />

since January 7, 1974. j<br />

13. Report <strong>of</strong> the death <strong>of</strong> Edgar Werner, Building Sanitation Worker, Akers Hall, on<br />

September 14, 1975. Mr. Werner was born August 8, 1917 and had been employed by the<br />

University since February 17, 1967.<br />

14. Report <strong>of</strong> the death <strong>of</strong> Archie Holland on September 17, 1975. Mr. Holland was born<br />

July 29, 1904, was employed by the University on May 10, 1956, and retired as<br />

Building Service Worker, Kellogg Center, on January 1, 1972.<br />

Gift <strong>of</strong> Tektronix oscilloscope valued at $1,650 from the National Science Foundation<br />

Engineering Research.<br />

Gift <strong>of</strong> medical journals and periodicals valued at $800 from the estate <strong>of</strong> Dr. Kevin<br />

O'Brien for the U.P. Medical Education Program Library, College <strong>of</strong> Human Medicine.<br />

Gift <strong>of</strong> physicians' equipment and textbooks with a total value <strong>of</strong> $3,895 from<br />

Oliver B. McGillicuddy, M.D., Lansing, for use under the direction <strong>of</strong> Yash Pal Kapur<br />

in the otolaryngology laboratories and clinics in the Department <strong>of</strong> Surgery.<br />

Gift <strong>of</strong> 2 MEDCOM slide lectures and 1 MEDCOM text valued at $150 from Ralph F. Otten,<br />

East Lansing, to be used for teaching in the College <strong>of</strong> Osteopathic Medicine's<br />

Simulation Learning Center.<br />

Gift <strong>of</strong> 492 herbarium specimens, 2,116 scientific reprints, 36 books, and 484 issues<br />

<strong>of</strong> magazines with a total value <strong>of</strong> $1,369.52 from Irving W. Rnobloch, East Lansing,<br />
