minions, with him both during the Wellfleet attacks and<br />

the night Worthington was murdered. The extensive<br />

criminal records of these Commonwealth witnesses should<br />

have been produced. They were investigated by the same<br />

team handling the Worthington murder, disposed a'f before<br />

<strong>McCowen</strong>'s trial: cocaine and marijuana possession,<br />

intimidating witnesses, breaking and entering, assault<br />

with a knife, operating under the influence, assault and<br />

battery by bludgeoning a blood-covered victim in the<br />

head and face with a beer bottle, assault and battery on<br />

a middle-aged stepmother, assault and battery on a<br />

girlfriend, home invasion and assault and battery with a<br />

dangerous weapon involving narcotics and a victim shot<br />

three times, and assault and battery with a knife on a<br />

woman. Some of these Cornonwealth witnesses were called<br />

and others not. Almost all were seen with Frazier the<br />

night the prosecution claimed Worthington was murdered.<br />

The evidence was withheld despite specific requeshs.<br />

The trial court's decision regarding the<br />

Commonwealth's failure to disclose the defects in the<br />

State Police Crime Laboratory presents an even more<br />
