OPERATING yOUR BREVILLE SMART OVEN - COOKIE<br />

4. The baking temperature and time can be<br />

adjusted before or during <strong>the</strong> baking cycle.<br />

a) The baking temperature is displayed as<br />

<strong>the</strong> top figure on <strong>the</strong> LCD screen.<br />

Turn <strong>the</strong> TEMPERATURE dial to adjust<br />

<strong>the</strong> baking temperature in 5ºC increments,<br />

from 50ºC to a maximum of 230ºC (or<br />

in <strong>the</strong> Fahrenheit mode 10ºF increments,<br />

from 120ºF to a maximum 450ºF).<br />

b) The baking time is displayed as <strong>the</strong><br />

bottom figure on <strong>the</strong> LCD screen.<br />

Turn <strong>the</strong> TIME dial to adjust <strong>the</strong> baking<br />

time in one minute increments up to<br />

maximum of 1 hour.<br />

NOTE<br />

Due to <strong>the</strong> wide variety of cookie<br />

types, you will need to consider<br />

whe<strong>the</strong>r you’re baking fresh,<br />

refrigerated or frozen cookie dough,<br />

and adjust <strong>the</strong> baking time to produce<br />

<strong>the</strong> ideal result.<br />

For example, frozen cookie dough<br />

may need additional baking time. The<br />

amount of dough per cookie or <strong>the</strong><br />

thickness of <strong>the</strong> cookie many also vary<br />

<strong>the</strong> cooking time.<br />

NOTE<br />

Your customised COOKIE<br />

temperature and time settings<br />

will remain in <strong>the</strong> memory of <strong>the</strong><br />

oven until you change <strong>the</strong>m or<br />

unplug <strong>the</strong> oven from <strong>the</strong> wall outlet.<br />

When <strong>the</strong> oven is plugged back into<br />

<strong>the</strong> wall outlet, <strong>the</strong> COOKIE function<br />

will automatically return to <strong>the</strong><br />

preset temperature of ‘175ºC’,<br />

preset time of ‘:11 MINS’ and<br />

preset CONVECTION setting.<br />

5. Press <strong>the</strong> START/CANCEL button<br />

to activate this setting. The button<br />

surround will illuminate red and <strong>the</strong><br />

oven alert will sound.<br />

6. The LCD screen flash PREHEATING.<br />

Once <strong>the</strong> oven has reached <strong>the</strong> set<br />

temperature, <strong>the</strong> temperature alert<br />

will sound.<br />

7. Place food on <strong>the</strong> <strong>Breville</strong> enamel baking<br />

pan, <strong>Breville</strong> non-stick 13 pizza pan, or<br />

in an oven-proof dish, <strong>the</strong>n place on<br />

<strong>the</strong> centre of <strong>the</strong> wire rack so air flows<br />

around <strong>the</strong> back, as well as <strong>the</strong> front of<br />

<strong>the</strong> food.<br />

MIDDLE<br />

NOTE<br />

It may be necessary to lightly grease or<br />

line <strong>the</strong> enamel baking pan with baking<br />

paper to prevent cookies from sticking.<br />

NOTE<br />

Caution should be exercised when<br />

using pans and dishes constructed of<br />

materials o<strong>the</strong>r than metal. If using<br />

ceramic or glass pans or dishes it is<br />

important that <strong>the</strong>y are oven safe to<br />

prevent cracking.
