trisämä – Lord Kåñëa, in His appearance as Çréla Vyäsadeva, divided<br />

the original Veda into three parts; sämaga – Çréla Vyäsadeva took<br />

pleasure in singing the Vedic hymns; säma – He taught those hymns<br />

to His disciples; nirväëam – He freed them from ignorance and<br />

liberated them from material bondage; bheñajam – He administered<br />

the medicine <strong>of</strong> pure devotional service to Kåñëa, which freed the<br />

devotees from the disease <strong>of</strong> material existence; bhiñak – He is the<br />

greatest physician; sannyäsa-kåt – in His appearance as Lord<br />

Caitanya, He accepts the renounced order <strong>of</strong> life, sannyäsa; sama –<br />

Lord Caitanya is equiposed; çänta – He is peaceful; niñöhä-çäntiparäyaëa<br />

– He is the abode <strong>of</strong> the highest peace and devotion, for He<br />

silences the impersonalist non-devotee philosophers.<br />

çubhäìga – the handsome features <strong>of</strong> Lord Kåñëa’s transcendental<br />

body charm the minds and hearts <strong>of</strong> the residents <strong>of</strong> Våndävana;<br />

çäntida – His gentle smile pacifies their hearts and inspires great<br />

feelings <strong>of</strong> love for Him; srañöä – He creates at every moment a<br />

treasure-house <strong>of</strong> transcendental bliss, which becomes the property <strong>of</strong><br />

the residents <strong>of</strong> Våndävana; kumuda – He becomes happy enjoying<br />

pastimes with His brother Balaräma in the forests <strong>of</strong> Våndävana;<br />

kuvaleçaya – He enchanted the residents <strong>of</strong> Våndävana by causing<br />

them to continually drink the nectar <strong>of</strong> the sound <strong>of</strong> His flute; gohita<br />

– He is the well-wisher and benefactor <strong>of</strong> the cows; gopati – He is the<br />

master and controller <strong>of</strong> the cows; goptä – He is the protector <strong>of</strong> the<br />

cows; våçabhäkña – He killed the Ariñöäsura demon, who assumed the<br />

form <strong>of</strong> a bull to attack the residents <strong>of</strong> Våndävana; våçäpriya – after<br />

Ariñöäsura was killed, He carefully protected the cows and bulls <strong>of</strong><br />

Våndävana, which are very dear to Him.
