these counts are single-engine; multi-engine; jets; and helicopters as reported by the<br />
airport and verified by the N number registry. Not included in these <strong>to</strong>tals are:<br />
military aircraft, ultra-lights, gliders, and balloons.<br />
Dev Cost The estimated 5-year costs for airport improvements that are eligible for Federal<br />
development grants under the Airport Improvement Program. The costs identified are<br />
for development only; approximately $775 million in planning costs are excluded<br />
from the development estimates. <strong>Plan</strong>ning costs have increased 137 percent from the<br />
last report ($448 million).<br />
Note: The data presented in these tables were largely compiled in 2009 with a few updates<br />
through February 2010.<br />
