to make full report at the nearest custom house in the country in whose<br />

waters the salving takes place.<br />

Agreement Regarding Air <strong>Search</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Rescue</strong> Operations<br />

Effected by exchange of notes signed at Washington, January 24 <strong>and</strong> 31,<br />

1949 (63 Stat. 2328; TIAS 1882)<br />

Under this agreement public aircraft of either country which are<br />

engaged in emergency air search <strong>and</strong> rescue operations may enter or leave<br />

either country without being subject to immigration or customs<br />

formalities normally required, provided that the RCC involved in the SAR<br />

assumes the responsibility for providing information, by telephone or<br />

telegraph on the intended operation to:<br />

(a) The immigration office at the point of entry nearest the<br />

territory over which any SAR is to be conducted, furnishing details on<br />

purpose of the flight, identification marking of each aircraft, <strong>and</strong><br />

number of persons in the crew; or<br />

(b) The customs office nearest to the territory over which any SAR<br />

is to be conducted, giving details on the territory to be searched, the<br />

possible duration of the stay of the aircraft, the identification<br />

markings of each aircraft, <strong>and</strong> the number of persons in the crew.<br />

In case such aircraft of one country l<strong>and</strong> in the territory of the<br />

other country in the course of emergency SAR, a verbal or telephone<br />

report must be made to the nearest collector of customs so that he may<br />

assist in any way possible with entry requirements for SAR operations.<br />

HONDURAS<br />

Exchange of Notes Regarding <strong>Rescue</strong> Coordination Facilities in Honduras<br />

Effected by exchange of notes at Tegucigalpa November 7 <strong>and</strong> 25, 1952<br />

Under this exchange of notes before Honduras became a member of<br />

ICAO, the Honduran Government informed the U.S. Government that,<br />

regarding RCC activities at Albrook AFB, Panama, the Honduran Bureau of<br />

Civil Aeronautics had made provision for SAR flights to be allowed to<br />

enter their country without any requirement other than to request<br />

clearances from their Flight Control Center, to coordinate their<br />

activities with ours <strong>and</strong> to be able to provide more effective assistance<br />

for SAR missions.<br />

JAMAICA<br />

Authorization for Aircraft Engaged in SAR Operations to Fly Over <strong>and</strong><br />

L<strong>and</strong> in Jamaica<br />

Order issued March 21, 19<strong>50</strong><br />

The Governor of Jamaica authorized State aircraft of the United<br />

States, Colombia, <strong>and</strong> Venezuela while engaged in SAR operations <strong>and</strong><br />

assigned for such purposes by the RCCs of the Caribbean Area,
