SAR unit if sighted. A definite time limit should be set for the watch<br />

in case facilities are overlooked <strong>and</strong> not de-alerted after the target<br />

has been located or the search suspended. If information is still<br />

desired after this period, another EXCOM should be initiated.<br />

D. Local press, radio <strong>and</strong> television should be contacted during<br />

this phase to give out information on the missing craft <strong>and</strong> request<br />

assistance of the public. EXCOM for an aircraft is begun by FSSs <strong>and</strong><br />

monitored by the RCC.<br />
