NORTH DAKOTA SPECIALISTS 

Authorized To Provide Services Under 

CHILDREN’S SPECIAL HEALTH SERVICES 

In order to have health care visits paid for by Children’s Special Health Services (CSHS), North Dakota 

providers must be approved as participating specialists. To start the enrollment process, providers are 

encouraged to submit a letter of intent to CSHS. Additional documentation may vary by type of provider, but 

generally the following is submitted for review by the CSHS Medical Director. 

• Copy of license 

• Copy of certification 

• Vitae (if available) 

CSHS uses the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) for claims processing. Before payments 

can be approved by CSHS, providers must complete a Medicaid Program Provider Agreement, which enables 

them to be enrolled in the Medicaid claims processing system. 

If a provider is not on the CSHS North Dakota Specialists list, he or she can be contacted to see if they would 

like to enroll. To assure payment, the provider must meet the established qualifications and be willing to 

enroll as a Medicaid provider.
