carbonhydrates, fats, and nucleic acid percentages in a dry algae is given and is<br />

compared with selected conventional foodstuffs (Becker 1994). From Table 1.3,<br />

chemical composition varies with the species of the algae. Also, algae has higher<br />

protein content such as Dunaliella salina in contrast to conventional foodstuffs like<br />

egg.<br />
