Lehman College Website Redesign Project File Template:
Instructions:
Please complete your project file (replacing the example project file below) using Microsoft
Word, using a basic outline approach. The outline organization should include roman
numerals which represent the top level, or main sections, of the website. The sub section(s)
(links) should be represented by small case letters, which is the default outline setting in
Microsoft Word.
The ‘Project File’ example admissions site at the end of this document includes the basic
structure, formatting, instructions, and content organization to be emulated in your project
file. This example Project File uses the homepage (L3) Version 2 located at:
and the content (L4) Version 1 example located at:
Note: The Lehman College redesign page levels include the following:
• L1 = Lehman College Homepage
• L2 = Lehman College ‘organization’ page: Example at:
http://www.lehman.edu/about/
• L3 = Division and/or department homepage
• L4 = College, division, and/or department content page
Examples template choices are available for viewing at:
TEMPLATE VERSION 1 OPTIONS:
• Division/Department Homepage (L3) Version 1 (With Flash Photo Rotation):
http://www.lehman.edu/features/our-campus.php
• Division/Department Homepage (L3) Version 1 (Without Flash Rotation)
http://www.lehman.edu/winter-session/
• Division/Department Content Page (L4) Version 1:
http://www.lehman.edu/features/arts.php
TEMPLATE VERSION 2 OPTIONS:

• Division/Department Homepage (L3) Version 2 (With Flash Photo Rotation):
http://www.lehman.edu/academics/arts-humanities/
• Division/Department Homepage (L3) Version 2 (Without Flash Rotation)
http://www.lehman.edu/special-academic-sessions/summer.php
• Division/Department Content Page (L4) Version 2:
http://www.lehman.edu/academics/arts-humanities/contact-us.php
TEMPLATE VERSION 3 OPTIONS:
• Division/Department Homepage (L3) Version 3:
http://www.lehman.edu/library-test/index.php
• Division/Department Content (L4) Version 3:
http://www.lehman.edu/library-test/library-hours.php
TEMPLATE VERSION 4 OPTIONS:
• Division/Department Content (L4) Version 4:
http://www.lehman.edu/itr/
You are not required to use a homepage (L3) style per se, as you may wish to simplify your
project file/website by using a content page (L4) for both your homepage and content
page(s) (See Template Version 5 example above http://www.lehman.edu/itr/).
Questions about this can be clarified via a phone or in-person consultation with manager of
web services, David Stevens (ext. 8745), and/or website content editor, Yeara Milton (ext.
7963).
Please note that each main section (roman numeral) and sub section (small case letter) of
your project file should include detailed instructions regarding each page’s content &
components. Page contents and components may include some or all of the following:
Standard Components:
• The name of the link and the associated content to be used. Content may be
included as a word attachment, URL link, or content to be migrated from existing
web pages.
• The photo to be used in the photo region of the page. You may also request that we
provide you with a photo from our extensive photo library.
• The modules to be used on the right side of the page. Modules may include simple
graphic links to supportive websites, or a division/department calendar of events
feed.
Supplemental (Custom) Components:

• A Photo rotation and associated links. You may include a photo rotation in the
photo region of the page similar to our college’s homepage photo rotation. If so,
please indicate what type of photo (or include an actual photo), and provide us a tag
line (text description) and reference link that the photo should link to. We can also
work with you to develop custom interactions (flash) for this region if you’d like. If
so, this will require a consultation with manager of web services, David Stevens,
before beginning the project.
• Social Networking: Your options for developing social networking components
may include; Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, RSS, or iTunes U.
• Multimedia Photo Slideshow, Podcast, or YouTube link: You may request
multimedia supplemental content pieces. Examples located at:
http://www.lehman.edu/new-science-building/ (select the links on the right to view
examples of multimedia components).
• Interactive Map: You may wish to include an interactive map application. Example
of an interactive map is located at: http://www.lehman.edu/academics/studyabroad/our-students.php
• Interactive Form: You may include a basic form to be included in your website
which upon completion would generate an auto email to an email address you
specify.
• Interactive PDF’s: You may request an interactive PDF form to be developed
which allows users to populate the form content directly from within the browser,
then be printed out for hand or mail delivery. Example located at:
http://www.lehman.edu/lehman/human-resources/docs/certification-of-priorservice.pdf
Upon completing your project file, please send as an email attachment to manager of web
services, David Stevens, and web content editor, Yeara Milton.
Upon completion of the test site, an email will be sent to you and Yeara Milton with
instructions to review and approve the content, links, and components of your test site.
Editorial/ text copy changes should be initially sent to Yeara for inclusion on the test site,
and structural, navigational, module, photo, or supplemental component changes should be
sent to David Stevens.
Upon final approval of the test site, the new site will be launched, and all incoming links will
be changed to point to your new website URL. URL redirects from the former website will
be completed, thereby pointing old pages to the new redesign site.
Upon completion and launch of the new site, site coordinators should forward the name(s),
office, and contact information for the staff member(s) responsible for maintenance of the
website content to manager of web services, David Stevens. David Stevens will then send
an email message with instructions on using Adobe Contribute to manage and maintain your
division/department website.

Please also note that all websites which have been migrated to the newly designed
templates will by default be optimized for search engines, ADA compliant (accessible), and
include google analytics scripts to allow site usage tracking and metrics analysis.
If you have questions or issues, please contact David Stevens at:
david.stevens@lehman.cuny.edu or by phone at: 718-960-8745.
