Command Purpose<br />

Step 3 Perform this step on <strong>Cisco</strong> 7500 series devices only: Specifies the image to be used by the active RSP at<br />

hw-module slot slot-number image file-spec<br />

initialization. If a high-availability image is found,<br />

the running configuration is updated.<br />

Example:<br />

Router(config)# hw-module slot 6 image slot0:rsp-pv-mz<br />

Step 4 Perform this step on <strong>Cisco</strong> 7500 series devices only:<br />

hw-module slot slot-number image file-spec<br />

Example:<br />

Router(config)# hw-module slot 7 image slot0:rsp-pv-mz<br />

Step 5 redundancy<br />

Example:<br />

Router(config)# redundancy<br />

Step 6 mode {hsa | rpr | rpr-plus | sso}<br />

Example:<br />

Router(config-red)# mode sso<br />

• slot-number—Specifies the standby RSP slot<br />

where the Flash memory card is located. Valid<br />

numbers are slot 2 or slot 3 for a <strong>Cisco</strong> 7507<br />

router or slot 6 or slot 7 for a <strong>Cisco</strong> 7513 router.<br />

• file-spec—Indicates the Flash device and the<br />

name of the image on the standby RSP.<br />

Note Steps 3 and 4 are the same. Step 3 applies<br />

to the active RSP, and Step 4 applies to the<br />

standby RSP.<br />

If you do not specify a <strong>Cisco</strong> IOS image in Step 3,<br />

this command loads and executes the bundled<br />

default <strong>Cisco</strong> IOS standby image. The system then<br />

operates in HSA mode.<br />

The image indicated by the file-spec attribute must<br />

be available on the local Flash device. Remote<br />

protocols such a TFTP and remote copy are not<br />

available.<br />

Specifies the image to be used by the standby RSP<br />

at initialization. If a high-availability image is<br />

found, the running configuration is updated.<br />

• slot-number—Specifies the active RSP slot<br />

where the Flash memory card is located. Valid<br />

numbers are slot 2 or slot 3 for a <strong>Cisco</strong> 7507<br />

router or slot 6 or slot 7 for a <strong>Cisco</strong> 7513 router.<br />

• file-spec—Indicates the Flash device and the<br />

name of the image on the active RSP.<br />

Enters redundancy configuration mode.<br />

Sets the redundancy configuration mode to SSO on<br />

both the active and standby RP.<br />

Note After configuring SSO mode, the standby<br />

RP will automatically reset.<br />
