details of the great programs we offer in our

We need your help! It’s time for Mentor’s 

all new festival, Mentor CityFest to be held 

August 23–24. As you can imagine, we 

need volunteers to make this festival happen. 

We are looking for service groups or 

individuals willing to help out with various 

assignments. All we ask is that you commit 

to working a shift of 4-5 hours during the 

festival. Monetary donations are available 

for service groups interested in working on 

a few special assignments. 

Some ways to get involved are; children’s 

games, parade help, information table, 

clean up, set up and take down crew, ticket 

& wristband sales, and more! 

Do you want to see what it is like to experience 

this spectacular event from the inside 

out and directly participate in making a 

memorable experience for our guests? Apply

Senior Center membership is required to participate 

in Senior Center activities including class- 

 

Please register and pay at least one week before the 

beginning date of each class. The City of Mentor accepts 

Cash, Check, Visa and Mastercard. When registering 

online, Discover and American Express may 

also be used. 

PROGRAM/ACTIVITY REFUND GUIDELINES 

1. A full refund or transfer is available if Mentor Senior 

Center cancels the program/activity. 

2. Transfers can be made with full credit, up to the 

 

same season and year of programs and into a program 

that has available space. 

3. An administrative charge of $10 will be assessed 

if the participant cancels out of the program/activity. 

Prevent the $10 fee by transferring the full amount 

to another program/activity within the same season.

The Tuff Stuff strength station offers a wide variety of 

exercises and the Precor stretch trainer offers great 

stretching options. You must be 55 years or older, a 

member of the senior center and must take the Exercise 

Equipment Training Class to participate. 

Learn to use the equipment safely in these classes. 

Learn proper form, seat and weight settings and how 

to use a workout card to track your progress. Classes

Mentor Farmers Market 

Comes to Civic Center Park 

Mentor has expanded its Farmers Market to 15 weeks. Local 

farmers will sell their fruits and vegetables from 3-7 PM in 

the parking lot next to Mentor City Hall 

through September 6. Produce will vary 

from week to week and will also include 

baked goods, jams & jellies, syrups, 

honey, olive oil and other produce-related 

products. But that’s not all!! On June 28, 

July 26 and August 30, the Farmers Market 

will be joined by arts & craft vendors, 

food, live music and activities for the young … and young at 

heart. It’s all part of Final Fridays at Civic Center – our new 

spin on “The Market with a Festival Atmosphere.” 

 

The coolest party to come to Ohio’s longest beach. 

This free, family-friendly, celebration on the lake incorporates 

the arts with the elements of wind, water and sand.

paddle boarding, sand art projects, live music, games 

and food. World Champion Sand Sculptor Carl Jara will 

be on the beach building a massive sand sculpture, 

while non-stop beach music entertains and giant puppets

march along the shore. Spirit of America, along with Lake 

Metroparks and our Mentor Fire Dive Team, will organize 

boat safety lessons, water rescue 

demos, boat races and paddle 

board and kayak use.

of Mentor and Headlands Beach 

State Park with help from many 

community partners.
