Day Four:<br />
Teach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Professional</strong> <strong>Skills</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Law</strong> School 557<br />
1) Court hear<strong>in</strong>gs by law firms represent<strong>in</strong>g the defendant <strong>and</strong> the<br />
State at sentenc<strong>in</strong>g. (Court imposes a sentence of probation with 6<br />
months jail, drug treatment, clean-up costs, probation service fee, etc.;<br />
court fills out <strong>for</strong>m <strong>and</strong> defendant signs it.)<br />
2) Discussion about prepar<strong>in</strong>g the case <strong>for</strong> sentenc<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />
client preparation.<br />
3) Question <strong>and</strong> Answer session on any subject relat<strong>in</strong>g to the<br />
practice of crim<strong>in</strong>al law with faculty. (Suggest we use the same<br />
procedure as previously used <strong>in</strong> other modules, i.e. each law firm<br />
decides on four questions that would be of <strong>in</strong>terest to the class. Then<br />
each law firm asks its top question <strong>and</strong> the same process cont<strong>in</strong>ues <strong>for</strong><br />
rounds two, three, <strong>and</strong> four, as time permits.)
